Watch Ford GT set lap record at VIR

I remember seeing the 2016 Vipers being tested at VIR, and how we were all told not to take pictures. Didn't stop us from doing it anyways, but man, I'd have liked to see this take that Oak Tree turn. VIR is only 40 mins from where I work.

Impressive nonetheless...
I did hear yesterday there were some fuel starvation issues during cornering under half tank though :\ bad news for the small handful of GT owners that will actually put their cars on the track. |
You are correct blackmount, it performed better with a full tank. An issue they need to correct for any car costing a small fortune.

I am sure we will see another car break this new record also. Cheers

New 2019 Mazda RX-50 (twin turbo rotary) sets track record at VIR It's simple: we haven't seen bodywork for a new potential rotary car, which in itself takes a while. The new possible engine is vaporware at this point as well. Also, Mazda only has fewer than 20 people working on the rotary. I don't think something is gonna magically happen in less than a year. |
