Volvo 240 or 244?
So my bro got a 1984 4 speed Volvo 240 and we where looking under the hood only to find on the tag 244? :uhh:
Anyone have any experience with the bricks? Thanks, -Gil |
240 series included 242, 244, 245 and so on but the actual car was still called a 240.
2 - The first digit is the series of car 4 - The second digit is number of cylinders 4 - The last digit is number of doors So ithe car should be a 4-cylinder, 4 door. |
In the 70s/80s Volvos went by the series/cyliners/doors naming. Starting in 86, all the badges showed 240, by then the 6 cylinder was gone, and it was probably less confusing.
My first car was a 240, I loved that tank. Stay away from any volvo dealer for service, complete rip. They are pretty easy to work on so he could do most work himself, or there are lots of Volvo/Euro car mechanics out there that pretty good. Check out, ipdusa.com best source for Volvo parts in the US. |
Turbo 245's FTW!!!

240's
I had one, my brother had one, etc...
:yesnod: Don't worry, Volvo was constantly making revisions to the car when it was in production. Leemoshuffle |
