Universal wifi/Bluetooth/corded OBD2 reader for iPhone
Any suggestions on a good OBD2 reader that can be used through an iPhone? (For any generic car, not specifically the 8)

If you are talking about the hardware, there are lots of options out there, from cheap ebay china ones to the OBD+Key from a UK company for ~$140ish.
Generally, higher price gets you longer lifespan and sometimes faster transmission rates. Some of the china ones don't last long, overheating and failing early. There are hearsay stories out there about ebay dongles frying ECUs, but I haven't actually found any first hand accounts of that. I went with an OBD+Key ~3.5 years ago, and it's still going strong, plugged in nearly continuously into one of my cars for a total of around 60-70,000 miles. |
Thanks. I don't plan to use it continuously and didnt want to spend too much. Any other suggestions?

There are so many variations out there I don't think anyone has tested them all.
