Ugly Mustang GT?
Is it just me or do other people also find the shape of the new mustangs ugly? Id take my 8 over a 'stang any day, but theres a lot of people out there that think the stang is just the most beautiful thing on the road!:banghead:

This might have been more relevant about 3 years ago, but whatever.
I like the new design, I just don't appreciate the car. |
Well, Ford pinched out so many consistently ugly models of that car that any slight improvement ended up looking like some kind of gorgeous exotic car in comparison.
|
I still think they are for the most part god awful ugly but it is definitely an improvement over the last generation.
|
I like it. It "harkens" back to the days when the Mustang was a true muscle car, ie: Steve McQueen and the movie "Bullitt"
It is a nice blend of the old and the new. But........................I would never buy one. |
FWIW, I'll chime in.... I personally love the exterior styling of the current Mustang. I really think that Ford nailed the design because I think the car looks great from pretty much every angle. The shape and proportions (ignoring the retro cues) are very handsome. Furthermore, I am somewhat surprised how well the design has been holding up. I was expecting to grow tired of the Mustang since it sells in such large numbers and you see them quite often. However, the design still hasn't become "worn out" yet.
Of course, that's just my opinion. Whatever floats your boat...... Cheers |
It is one hell of a rebound for the Mustang brand that was sullied by the styling of the 80's and 90's versions, IMO.

In June 2008 the ugly Mustang sales are down 14.8% from last year to 10,893 In June 2008 the beautiful RX8 sales are down 34.6% from last year to 333 I guess the people with money in their checking account have a different opinion than we do. :) |

i love the new ones and none of the recently old ones at all, of course i would rather take my 8.
|
Don't get me wrong like both the RX-8 and the new style Mustang GT.
But I personally would take the Mustang GT and there are some factors why... 1] I absolutely love the sound and rumble of the Mustang GT V-8 engine. 2] I can fit in it better than an RX-8. On the other hand if I was 3-6 inches shorter and 156 LBS lighter then and only then I would decide on getting a RX-8 over a Mustang GT. |
i LOVE this
http://image.mustangandfords.com/f/m...ng-eleanor.jpg and the Roush mustangs. http://media.motortopia.com/files/50...9/IMGP1824.jpg wish Roush would do something with the 8's. :[[[[ i hate the new style of mustangs. |
I think it's the best looking Mustang yet, but looks alone don't make it a good car.
|
Im just not an overall big fan. The looks arn't really helping it out in my mind either.
|
I personally do not like the look of the Mustang (or the car overall for that matter)...but kind of like meeting someone who's wife is not very attractive, I won't insult the owner by saying to them their car is ugly. I'll check it out and basically give them the "Good for you...I'm glad you like it reaction". Of all Mustangs the "Terminator" is probably the only one I would remotely consider...otherwise I'd probably consider any other performance car that doesn't wear a Ford badge before it.

I wonder if you guys know that Ford owns Mazda. So have a little more respect for your guys RX-8 parent company.
|
EVERYONE here knows Ford owns Mazda.
How does that affect it's status as a piece-of-shit? S |

It's more like "Here's your new step father Mazda, hes a real sweetie but watch out when he gets a bottle in his hand." :eyetwitch Mustangs aren't really meant to be pretty, but they make their ugliness work for them. What i'm trying to say is that there are uglier cars. like the 350z. |
Id take the one from transformers.

Sitting at a red light I spied the above mustang.....( I could not believe my eyes)....except for the hood, and it was jet black, and directly behind it a new GT..You know the guy behind him was thinking OMG i wish I had that...:icon_no2: As previous owner of the new style, and of an 8, the ONLY thing I miss is the rumble of the exhaust..and even that wasn't quite what I wished it was. |

If I'm not mistaking...the RX-8 is about as purely Mazda as it gets....so even with Ford owning a big stake in Mazda I do not quite own a Ford. Don't get me wrong I might consider cars from other Ford brands (Volvo and Aston Martin if I could afford one) just not from their primary bunch (Ford, Mercury, and Lincoln). |

As for the Mustang, I think that the current ones are quiet attractive but mechanically disappointing. |
Since when did Mustang ever looked good ?
It all look like shit. (my own opinion) |
