Anyone notice the coolest car salesmen are women? They are more understand, have a better sense of humor and are more willing to help you out. I hate when I get this steryotypical guy come out to talk to me like he knows what I want already. Girl salesmen are much more friendly too. Guys want to get right down to business. A girl will talk to you a bit and get to know you. She gives better customer service that way.

I say "Listen Irv, go get the girl of the dealership."

All the guys talk like they are those old time car salesmen. Hate it! "I'm givin' ya the straight skinny on this here machine." I want to kick him in the nads and walk out!

Go girl salesmen!

Being in the industry, I can comment that female salespeople actually are more attentive to the customer's requirements and see them as people.

Most male salesman see you as a dollar figure when you walk into the dealership and start thinking of ways to "jab" you so they can earn a hefty commission.

The industry (at least here in Australia) is changing and more women are getting into it since it correlates directly with the focus of the industry moving more towards better customer service.

Back in the old days, you dreaded walking into a showroom since it was similar to throwing yourself into a pool of sharks.
Nowadays, the focus is more on service and building customer rapport.

Unfortunately, there still is an ulterior motive behind all this customer service and rapport building.
The idea is to build the trust so you can "whack" them once it enters the negotiation side of things.

Similar to a smiling assassin in concept.
The scary thing is that it works extremely well. :)

I was at a dealer to test drive an 8. This ass came out and i could feel him screwing me as he talked. Immediately started selling the Mazda3 I was looking at. I had to tell him like 3 times I was not looking for a 3... He was in the back getting my car and I was waiting drooling over a yellow with MS kit when this girl came out. She was sweet, bubbly and generally happy to see me. She started talking about the weather and such and said nothing about cars. I like that cause it made me feel I was more than just a piece of profit to her. Unfortunately I had to tell her I was already being helped. I wanted to tell Jimbo that I wanted her to help me, not him. I don't know it it would have been a good idea... what you guys think? Can you ask for a different salesperson even after the first one started and got your car and such?

ps. I know, I may be sexist but if you think about how many girls there are in the business, there are few. I have seen 2 women salespeople in my 4 years of car hunting and at least 25 dealerships. Go to one and talk to a woman salesperson. You'd be much more surprised at how much less pressure you feel. Unless you're a hot girl, then go for a young guy. His eyes will lower the price for you! ;)

There was one female salesperson at the dealership when I went, unfortunately for me, she was not "up at bat" so to say, and I got a moron for a salesman instead. Just casually speaking with her when my salesman went to check on something, it seemed like she was alot more ENTHUSED about the RX8 than the salesman I ended up with, and a lot more educated about the 8 and it's features/issues. Oh well. I still knew more about the 8 than those two combined, but at least the lady salesperson knew a few things about the car.

I like how technical men are when it comes to sales, but I also like the emotional appeal women use. I'm going into sales engineering, and I hope to incorporate both. :)

My car saleman was a chick with a d**k so she/or he didn't know how they wanted to act towards the sale. Very confusing, oh and it was down at Wantagh Mazda in NY!!

I don't think it's rude to ask for a different salesman. It's your money... I say if they want it, they should kiss butt cheeks until we say otherwise.

In my case, I knew that I wanted the 8, I had the car picked out (at another dealership about 200 miles away), and went in to the local dealership and said... "get it" Basically, it was the easiest sale they've ever made. Other than haggling over the price, there was no "selling" required... I was there to BUY, not be sold on something, so I didn't care if my salesman was man or woman or if they knew much about the car. Actually I "educated" them about the 8 and told them to check out this message board if they wanted to learn more about their "flagship" car. I especially wanted the service manager to become a constant lurker, so he'd know about the "issues" we had with this car. I find it very troublesome that the people who actively watch this board know about Mazda TSBs sooner than most dealership service departments.

OWW I love Russian women! The are seriously the horniest women I've ever met.

My salesperson was a girl and I got a good deal - she didn't play the "shark" approach nor did she try to con me into some BS.
It was a good buying experience (as much as buying a car can be).
