True Cost to Own site: RX-8 = $43,244

I found this true-cost calculator at edmunds.com. So I ran it for the costs on a new Sport editon manual over five years (including depreciation) was $43,244. (Your results might vary depending on destination charge.)

Just out of curiosity I ran it for a Speed 3 sport edition and it was $37,629.

Then I did a base-model 350Z: $44,388.

I'm going too be so rich when I'm dead that I won't be able too spend a penny because money is that powerful...

ok... but the lame thing is that the true cost to own INCLUDES the price of the car itself so thats not so bad (because it counts the cost of depreciation, essentially the car for how long you own it then sell it after 5 years)

Yes, they do include the price of the car in the cost of owning the car.

Go figure.

Hummer H2:
Total Cash Price $53,464
True Cost to Own $77,247
Five-year total for fuel: $19,537

Five-year fuel cost for the RX-8: $11,225

Smoke Honda 08-02-2007 09:11 PM

True cost for a Merc S-Class 65 AMG $221,308.

Cash price: $197,061
Depriciation after 5 yearss: $124,287

That means it's going to be 70K in 5 years right?

I still can't afford a 5 year used one dammit.
