Test drove the RDX
 

Great car! Ride was a bit stiff like it had a sports suspension. It felt more like a sports sedan than anything else and made me forget I was driving an SUV. Power was good enough though not worth all that gas it sucks down, something like 13-16mpg around town. Hell I tried driving like an old lady and manage low mileage readouts. It was easier once I got on the highway where I saw 22-24mpg.

Everything about this car, from the fit and finish to ride quality felt luxurious and classy. Still not worth the MSRP of $37,000 for a loaded one in my opinion. Word on the street is these cars aren't selling all that well. Acura's poor leasing programs and word of poor mileage really hurt the RDX sales to the point dealers are desperate enough to sell these cars at INVOICE. Now we're talkin'!

I would give the rav 4 and cx-7 a shot, but my better half said no. The new X3 is way out of our budget so that leaves the RDX but only at invoice.

RDX is a nice SUV, its faster and handles better than the CX-7. You get what you pay for. at $37000 its a lot more than the CX-7. From fit and finish to use of materials to the drivatrain. IMO, everything is above the CX-7. However it is too expensive, if i were in the market to get a SUV (this day will never come) I would get the CX-7 not because of the fanboy-ism, but a base CX-7 is a bargain compared to competitors. Also reliability is a question mark(Not saying its bad) on the variable vane turbo Honda motor (they dont turbo their cars).

^ I would agree, especially since the base cx7 can be bought in the 22-23k range.

Both the CX-7 and RDX are first year models. Both are the manufacturer's 1st attempt at a mid sized crossover SUV. There will be bugs on both. Small or big is the only question. I'm going to steer clear of both and get an Infiniti FX instead. Better engine. Better drivetrain. More creature comforts. Proven track record.

I got acura dealers fighting for my business. Getting quoted for 33k w/tech. BUT, they tried to lowball me for my 8 for $13,000 (GT w/navi) I told one dealer in brooklyn to have a nice day then walked out.

I'd say Infiniti FX our Murano SE if the cheaper CX-7 won't do it for you. If you want sporty and practical you'll get better driving dynamics from a wagon.

i'd take the cx-7. really like it.

Too expensive. Acura/Honda needed to bring it in starting at like $29.9K.

poor sales and overstock may be pressuring dealers to let them go for under invoice.

I think it's a way-overpriced pile of shit. I know others will disagree, because it's a Honda/Acura product, but that's my assessment.

I cannot believe what Acura charges for a vehicle built on a Civic chassis.

too late. I never liked the aged look of the fx35. I'm sure it's a nice vehicle however the RDX provided that fun factor with utility which suited me.

Going from an Rx8 to an RDX. The ride was still a little harsh compared to other floaty SUV's but very soft compared to my 8. This is due to the sporty suspension. It feels more like a sports sedan than an SUV. My car only had a few miles in it so I would have to wait for the engine to break-in before dropping my lead foot.

I did not give the cx-7 or the rav4 or any other suv a chance. I got the rdx w/tech for 34k after destination and 4-5 dealer throw-ins. Buying this car at invoice is well worth it. At msrp? no way.
