Sonata 2.0T 1/4 mile of 14.6

Amazing how this car compares in the time trials. The rx8s 1/4 i think is 15s. The sonata skid tested at .83g, the rx8 was .92g. The lane change test had Sonata at 63mph and I think rx8 was 68.9mph. Sonata 0-60 is 6.2. Pretty damn good! So I guess the diff between this and a sports car is twice the gas mileage, twice the warranty and half the upkeep? Someone set me straight. I want to believe. |
Pretty good for a Sedan. But the RX-8 can click off a quarter in 14.3 or so driven properly. Also keep in mind that the RX-8 (for the most part mechanically) is seven years old.

I'd rather drive an RX8 than a Sonata any day. There are a handful of sedans that will outrun the RX8 on a strait line. Anyone who really appreciates the RX line never expected it do well in a strait line. We know its all about the twisties.

My ranger with a 2.3T does 12's, it still isn't my rx8.
|
i hope this guy doest have an rx8.
|
Should be compared to mazdaspeed6 not an RX-8
|
hahahahahaha. the .09 difference in the skid pad is night and day, as is the 6mph difference in the lane change.
The sonata is no where close in terms of performance with the exception of short distance, strait line speed. |
if you're the roll racing type, the Rx-8 will get stomped. in a straight line the only thing holding back the Sonata is the wrong wheel drive
|
More fun in the RX-8, more straightline speed in the Sonata. That said, the new Sonata and Optima are very impressive. Perfect 1-2 year old low miles used cars when 50% of their value is already gone.
