Given the depreciation the RX-8 suffers, there's no way in hell I would buy one new. I'd wait at least 2-3 years before buying one. They're half off by then.

Add an option of just putting in new 16X Rotary in the 8.

Depends.... are you assuming it will be a new RX-8? Or an RX-7?

my goal of a 200,000 mile RX-8 (on original motor) is not even halfway complete yet, so no.

By new RX if you mean totally revamped with the 16x DI then yeah.. Until the bugs are worked out..

I dont want to go through what I did when I first bought this car with all the recalls and horsepower issues.

I'll keep mine well past when the first generation comes out....

At the rate mazda moves, my 8 will be crumbled to dust by the time the new rotary comes out.
