So what elements in a car, constitute it to become a chick car
I disagree. A car can't be considered a chick car just because there's a higher powered version of it. The base model Mustang is a (relatively) cheap rear-wheel drive coupe -- something 90% of the people on this forum clamor for constantly. Just because someone doesn't want to drop the coin for a GT doesn't prove anything. Maybe they wanted a 15.3 sec 1/4 mile car for $20k -- nothing wrong with that. By your logic a Porsche 911 is a chick car because there's a 911 Turbo. If anything, the word you're describing is poseur car -- not chick car.
The only possible definition has to be a car that is owned primarily by females. People who try to use the term to designate cars that are more about style than performance are incredibly narrow-minded and hypocritical. Every single person on here talks about how ugly the Evo is compared to the 8 because that's the ONLY thing the 8 does better than the Evo. Yet, somehow because the 8 meets the "minimum" requirements for performance in your eyes it's not considered a chick car.
Whether it's style, handling, straight line speed, amenities, etc they all cost money. Some people value certain categories more than others. Anyone with an RX-8 who sits in judgment of someone else buying a car that's heavy on the looks and light on the performance is just as moronic as the 350Z owner who looks down on the RX-8 owner because of the lack of torque and woeful mileage. Everyone needs to grow up and have fun driving their car rather than worrying about emasculating a person for making a choice about a freakin car.

You might as well add the Corvette to the list. Plenty of chicks and hot chicks drive that car. Also the SLK should be added to that list, see plenty of snobby older women driving that car like its going out of style down here in FL.

i agree on what was said about the posers with H3s and other cars like that. I love the H1 of course because thats military hardware, the H2 is pretty sweet and I wouldnt mind having one (if someone just GAVE Me one) and I was rich for the gas.
The H3 to me is a joke - not only do I see women driving it all the time, is the fact that they drive a big huge car to do what? pick up little suzie from soccer practice?
The only thing that is worse then all the chick cars are the people with too much money and not enough brains that go out and drop a wad of cash on a badass Range Rover or something and then never use it to go off roading.
A few weeks ago there was a bunch of construction in my area and this lady in a range rover actually stopped in traffic because she refused to take her nice off road SUV down a 6" dropoff in the pavement to get to a sonic restaurant. I hate people that buy something awesome and either dont know how to use it to its potential or just waste it because they dont know any better.

now ... back to the fun. i realized something driving today - i second'ed the benz slk as a chick car, but EVERY mercedes is a chick car. it seems that unless it's an amg, it's a chick driving a benz.
