small dent on door; how do i get it out!!
hey all,
i've seemed to have gotten a very small dent on the side of my door right below the handle on the edge of the door. it is almost unnoticeable but still i know that it is there and would like to get it out. any suggestions?? i'm not sure if i am able to tap it out from the inside or not i might be able to plunge it out , but what kind of plunger do i use? do they make ones specifically for cars? |
Find a local paintless dent removal service. They use special tools to float the dent out by pushing on it from the inside. They can damn near perform miracles, and are typically pretty reasonably priced.
I wouldn't try it yourself - easy to make it worse than it already is. Dale |
Agree with Dale. Do NOT mess with it yourself. If you had to ask, you don't know what you're doing. Go to your nearest Mercedes dealership parts counter, and ask them for the business card of the guy who does their dent removal.

i had two door dings, and the dent removal guy did wonders. i was a happy man :) Get a professional to do it.

B-Nez is right - get the card of a "Dent Wizard" or similar vendor. Ask the Mazda sales manager where you bought your car who does their lot. Do not call the Dent Wizard directly - you'll pay retail! Find a guy who'll do it on the side and save a chunk! Figure $50-75 if it's on the side, $75-125 if you pay retail.
And these guys are magicians! You could whack your door with a 3-pound mallet and in 90 minutes, you wouldn't find the spot you hit it - really! |
Here in Santa Cruz he's called 'DentPro'.
In San Jose it's 'Ding King' :D Search Google for 'paintless dent removal 12345' where 12345 is your ZIP code. |
