Saab sold 371 units in November

TOTAL across the whole US! I'd suprised if there were Saab dealerships open in January. According to reports GM hasn't even built any 2010 Saabs.

I suspect we'll see a fire sale of the remaining inventory and the dealerships will close

That's a shame too because those are some nice cars but they never caught on over here.

I always liked the Viggen.

have you been following saab in the news? it's basically a s**tstorm right now. the toolings for the 9-5 and earlier 9-3s have been sold to the chinese, and they just announced that if spyker doesn't buy the company by the end of this month gm will close down saab for good. at this point, i'd say it's gonna close shop. a real shame 'cuz the new 9-5 looks pretty good and now it'll likely never be produced. i'm surprised that 371 cars even got sold in a month.

Yeah the Turbo Sports Sedan is nice. Plus I think it can be had with AWD too.

GM totally killed the brand: rebadging the WRX, an already bad GM SUV, starving it of new car development. I'd like to see Saab continue, but I think it is unlikely.

Hasn't Saab been sold to a Chinese auto company?

josuar88 12-16-2009 02:14 PM

I had a saab before I bought this car I liked it sucks that they were sold to gm anyways but now there broke shitty.

CarAndDriver 12-16-2009 02:14 PM

Barely sells more than Mazda sells RX-8s in a month in the US.

no they sold IP and rights to previous chassis designs etc. So that company can go right to tooling and produce and sell previous generation saab 9-5s and 9-3s(before 2009) and then work from there.

saves that chinese company a huge amount of r&d and gets them into the market quicker. Reuters says they will buy some of the tooling as well http://www.reuters.com/article/idUST...pe=marketsNews

But Saab the company is still on the block. Spyker is the only bidder and they say they still want it but its looking less likely there will be a Spyker owned Saab.

It's really a sad thing. I've been a Saab loyalist & now I don't think it shouldn't be there, where it's at now.
