Yes I waited until you posted most of them so i don't combo break your post :lol: . I'm still waiting on TSB's to arise with the passenger door rattle and shifter rattle. I took apart the trim of the shifter the other day and drove without it. It is definitely the shifter linkage rattling. I cannot pinpoint where exactly yet. Once again, I have a 9/2012 production CX-5 AWD GT.

So Mazda didn't learn how to make a car that won't rattle and fall apart right after purchase yet?

Every first year production model of any make will have these issues. Whether or not they have them posted to the general public is the difference. Take a look at the issues with the new Ford Escape (unknown name in Europe) and Ford Fusion (Mondeo). They are having similar if not worse problems and much more widespread.

Hell! That's allot of TSB's.

I was thinking about buying one.

Now, I'll just wait until next year, if at all.

Good news is the longer I wait the closer it gets to the new RX!

You do realize that these TSB's cover multiple models of cars, right?
Also, some of these TSB's only apply to the earliest of vehicles, as they resolved the problems on the assembly line.

Hell, they resolved most of these problems by last production of 2013 models. We've been in the 2014 models for two months now in the U.S.

Well... things like water in the tail\headlights already happens in all rx8s... apparently they thought that a different body style wouldn't have the same problem lol.
That's the problem with Mazda. They make great cars overall and the mechanical side of them is almost flawless but all these little things can get annoying over time.

European Carmakers simply don't update in short times their cars....so they have defects on a large numbers of veichles..

I remember that it seemed to be a running joke with Ford for several years with their small pickup/minivan line where every year, they would recall the vehicles with yet another fuel line loose/leaking TSB/Recall.

You would think that after several years, and various products, they would have taught their employees how to tighten a fuel line properly at the factory. Nope.

There was only one vehicle that I've owned so far that had condensation in the light assemblies, and that was my '07 Nissan Altima. It was very very humid when the car was built in MO, and after it was shipped here in CO, in the winter, I could see the droplets of water in the taillights.

I opened them up, wiped them out with a paper towel, and stuffed a hair dryer in them for 10 minutes. Put them back on the car, and never had an issue with condensation in them ever again.

Everyone has a different level of what isn't acceptable to them in a car.
Some people want a $14k Nissan Versa to be built to the same standards as a $300k Rolls Royce, and they get angry when it isn't, and feel as if Nissan is personally stealing money from their pockets, even though the car runs flawlessly day in and day out.

All I ever need to do to make myself feel better about my current cars is compare them to some of the problems the first vehicles I owned had. My '81 Pontiac Grand Prix had a whopping 105 hp, and the front bucket seats didn't even recline. Just a fixed upright position. The cassette deck didn't work, and the radio as a whole sucked. The number 6 spark plug meant scraped up hands as you had to reach through a tiny little space between the engine block and the HVAC unit on the Buick Built V-6, that ate the nylon toothed camshaft sprocket, and eventually required replacement, not of just the timing set, but sometimes the whole motor.

Do I even need to mention Rochester Quadra-junk carbs?

I still loved that car, though.

seriously, I met people like that and they talk smack about japanese cars said that they are "cheap unreliable pos" and praise their holy moly Ford ------ 10 minutes later, he was complaining about all the problems he had with his "supposed to be flawless Ford"

I personally don't cared if it's made in America/Japan/Korea/Mexico/Germans/Italy/etc , I want a car that looks good and reliable. Some people might ask Reliable and RX-8? Well I think my 8 is very reliable even it had engine replacement once, that's really just a design issue that existed 40 yrs ago(OMP, not to mention Emission rules which limits the injection rate)

so I premix and everything is fine. cuz other than the Engine the car has been working fine for me. and Yep the car looks GOOD

Had Honda FIT, great mpg and reliable (notice I never said it looks good!)

traded FIT for Mazda 3, looks great and reliable (it's not bad in MPG, not as good as FIT of course as the engine is much larger and has more leather, it's not so bad for a fully loaded car with only a 2.5 L engine)

Bought a Hyundai Sonata Hybrid, Looks good and good mpg (has this unknwon issue that only happens when hot, no CEL and its hard to reproduce at dealership, and it seems I probably got a lemon cuz no one else had this issue, meh will sell it later, wouldn't say it's unreliable though )

I never touch Any American made cars cuz all these wonderful problems I heard from friends. Nor German made cars like BMW/Mercedes, not only it sucked in reliability, it also cost an arm and leg to get it fix AND it still breaks soon after. so no thx.

Have you guys seen the recalls Ford Escape? FOUR RECALLS, twice in one week! Quite severe too as there was severe risk of the car setting itself on fire :lol: . The C-Max and Focus got recalls also. The Fusion got recalled twice in one week also for fluids that can leak on the exhaust and set the damn thing on fire.

Fords are the only car company that every year has recalls for cars or trucks setting themselves on fire randomly (Ferrari 458, notwithstanding).

You would think after being in business for so many years, and having so many different recalls for fires across so many different models of vehicles, they would have that be one of their first QA points before releasing a car to the public.

But nope.
Every year, every new model of vehicle, there's a recall for it potentially going up in flames.

Funny how its just Ford, and random across their entire vehicle lineup, for such a long stretch.

Fortunately for Mazda, they only have to recall a relatively small amount even if it is an international recall. Also fortunately for North American customers, we do not have the i-eloop (yet).

asked to my dealer..the DC/DC problem is related to cars produced until March, 9....they need to recall existing cars produced before that date. that will not affect the cars produced after.

I was asked if there are any common Mazda Parts from the MZR/Ford shared Engines with the all new Mazda Skyactiv 2.0l and 2.5l Engines.

Apart from 'some' standardized nuts, studs, washers and bolts there are only 4 Mazda Parts which are carried over and used in the SA Engines from old MZR.

10 X LF01-10-135 Bolt, Cylinder Head to Cylinder Block.
08 x LF01-11-214A Bolt, for 4 Connecting Rods
01 x YF09-11-303 Bearing Pilot, Manual Transmission.
32 X LF01-12-114 Cotters, for the 16 Valve Stems.

Every other SA Engine Parts are exclusive Mazda and all new.

Apparently TomTom is finally providing an update for the stupid screen lock >10mph.

"A small claims case against Mazda Motors of America, Inc. had been filed in California and will be dismissed without prejudice (Can be filed again) after receiving a call from Mazda which stated that a software fix was in the works by TomTom to correct the voice input during stop and go traffic. The estimated delivery date was June 2013, but was not guaranteed. This fix is only expected to address the voice input issue and does not address the keyboard input issue when the vehicle is in motion."

"I just called the Mazda US support at (800) 222-5500 (Option 6), and spoke with James @ ext 1161. He just told me that Mazda/TomTom are currently fixing the Stop/Go security issue. The planned fix will occur by July, 2013. It will be released through the TomTom website via an Update to the SD card."

Does this cancel the possibility of using an enlarged filter for the SkyA-G 2.0L? Much like how us RX-8 guys like to use the slightly larger M1-110 Mobil 1 filter for higher capacity and filter area.

Don't use Mobil M1-110 Oil Filters on a S2 or SA Engine, OK for S1 RX-8..

I will have to check SA manuals, and check for exact reasons, but I don't recall seeing anything about bypass rating (Mazda does not always tell one what you want to know) which I think also applies to these all new SA Oil Filters (PE01-14-302)..

I notice you posted something about a week ago (from memory) about you using a larger Oil Filter on CX-5, I was going to post a reply.

I would strongly suggest that you ONLY use the PE01 Oil Filter, these new engines are highly monitored (PCM) oil pressure/flow wise.

I will let you know if I find anything..

PE01 SA-Gasoline only Oil Filter By Pass Rating.......... 12.0 - 17.1 PSI
B6Y1 Series 1 RX-8 and old Mazda banger engines 11.4 - 17.1 PSI
N3R1 Series II RX-8 ONLY....................................20.3 - 26.1 PSI

I think from memory the Mobil 1110 was a 12 PSI max...

I'm surprised there hasn't been much more SkyA TSB's surfacing.

Found two that is applicable for my Oct/12 build CX-5. Window rattle and air bag module rattle. Still waiting for a passenger side door panel rattle fix.
