rx8 to cx9

Anyone move from a rx8 to a cx9? I realize they are not the same flavor of ice cream but would be interested in owners thoughts if you did switch or for that matter happen to own both.

thanks

I get one as a loaner car from when I go to the stealership at times. I'll try to compare everything in reference to the RX-8:

Steering and Handling: Much lighter than the RX-8 and definitely numb compared to the RX-8. They do have more feel than the Toyota trucks, and there is a nice precision to it as well. The CX-9 doesn't respond anywhere near as much as the RX-8, but it is probably one of the most willing trucks to turn around today. In terms of driving dynamics, it feels a bit like a BMW X5, which is a VERY good thing.

Fit and finish: Probably one ups our RX-8, especially the $40k grand touring all wheel drive model. It is a nice car, period, not just for a Mazda. The guages don't have the black and white tones at all like the RX-8 does, which I love, and always keep mine set to, and seem a bit hard to read at dusk.

Seats: Actually are nice for every day driving. They don't grip you as much as the standard 8, but they do feel slightly more comfortable for "normal" driving.

Visibility: Not good, but at least it doesn't have a huge rear blind spot like our cars have. The rear view camera inset in the rear view mirror is very helpful too in tight spots.

Engine and Braking: After 2008 or 2009 the motor got a power and torque boost at all rev ranges, apparently making it much more flexible for everyday useage. It's not a bad motor, but it is no rotary. The brakes do a great job at stopping this bohemoth as well...

All in all I somewhat enjoy having the CX-9 when I get it as a courtesy car. But I don't think I'd ever be in the market to buy a car like that.
