Colorado rotary engine shop

After reading all the comments on shops around the country, I own REspeedshop.com and have been building Rx's, racing in SCCA for years. We only do a handful of cars / motors per year and yes the costs have gone up quite a bit.
It is everyone's responsibility to seek out and ask a lot of questions about your build, including expectations and budget. As a long time SCCA racer, I know the old guys whom created the Mazda rotary community and have grown up admiring their work.
Figured it is time to jump into here as our shop has been active since 2016 and we intend to continue our work keeping the rotary alive and well. Thanks, happy holidays.

If you provide a link, I'll add you to the list if you'd like.

*Edit:
Or not.
I decided to look it up & link it.

His name is JP Derdeyn. If you’re in the Montreal CAN area give JP a shout.

I'm not sure I understand, is he affiliated with Derwyn, or did you link it because it's in Quebec?

*I also was confused thinking Derwyn was the Canadian shop that burnt down.
Didn't re-check

Added DE Speed Shop in Colorado.

He’s the owner, just as was stated at the beginning of the first sentence of the post.

I thought so, but it said Derwyn, & I didn't think of a 2 name combo at first.
I linked it.

*Edit: I was also confusing them with the other Canadian shop that burnt down.
I didn't check.

things aren’t looking so good for service work at Chip’s Motorsports

just don’t want to see anybody get hung out for a year or more waiting …

sad to report that you can scratch Pineapple Racing off the list:

https://www.rx7club.com/nw-rx-7-foru.../#post12601969

fewer and fewer of the original OGs left …

Thanks.
The few interactions I had with him were helpful.

That's very unfortunate, but I guess there was no-one to sell the shop to? They were always helpful answering questions when I had to order parts.
:(

Williard 05-05-2024 01:05 PM

So, reading that post, it seems the parts business will continue. Better to have some of pineapple than none i guess.

Travis.
