Rent a 2006 Shelby GT-H Mustang from Hertz!
 

I was surfing around on Ford Motor Companys website and stumbled across this,

I think I may rent one if I make it out to Los Angeles this summer.

I love my sweet Melissa, but I will be renting one of these AND I promise to beat the shit out of it. GOTTA LOVE RENTERS INSURANCE BABY!! I wonder how much the daily fee will be. I'm gonna investigate the logistics of this shizzle dizzle snazzle dazzle. Thanks for the info.

OMG, people are going to destroy these cars.

Or people are going to try and do engine swaps like they did the first time around with the Rent-A-Shelby.

Just a 20-hp, 10-lb-ft increase in power from the standard 4.6-liter V8 so I doubt a full engine swap is gonna happen.

This is only a Shelby in the fact that Shelby's shop in Vegas is adding the Ford Racing Parts to the Mustang GT's after production. This is not anywhere near the same car as the Shelby GT500 coming this summer. The GT-H has a few Ford Racing add-ons to bump output to 325hp....but has the same 4.6 3V as the Mustang GT. They'll be a few suspension upgrades as well......but this is not a 'real' Shelby product. Should still be a fun rental car though.......if you can find one. They are only building 500 of them this year.

My local ford dealer showed me that article but said that only 500 of these were being made available. If thats the case, good luck finding one. I wouldn't be surprised to see all of the Hertz managers getting a mustang company car for thier use or high end mangers snapping these things up...

Actually I was surprised by the article - my first thought was, 'Who cares? It's probably be an automatic anyway." They claim it'll be the 5-speed though. Hmmm..... when will I next be in Boston..... ;)
