Real Life Ridge Racer Car! WOW!

A buddy of mine sent this to me because I am a fan of the game.
What a impressive replica from the game!

Full story on it....
January 19, 2006 - Walking by the Project Mu booth at the Tokyo Auto Salon, I almost walked by this unique red sports car. Sure its shape was unique and eye-catching, but there was something "different" about it... I couldn't place my finger on it. At first I thought that it was a misplaced NATS vehicle. But the NATS cars don't have sponsor decals... I was about to shrug it off when I actually paid attention to the racing decals on the car.

I saw unusual logos for things like Mappy, Rally-X and Tekken. These are odd names to see on a sports car... and then I saw the Namco badge on the car. Was this vehicle another limited-edition specialty car like the Autobacs Gariya?

Then it hit me: Holy crap, this is the Ridge Racer car!

Yes, a real-life Raggio - seen most recently in the Ridge Racer game for the PSP - was on display at the 2006 Tokyo Auto Salon. Being the Ridge Racer nut that I am, it's safe to say that this was one of my favorite cars of the show.

Believe it or not, there is a Honda NSX under the custom aluminum sheetmetal of this Raggio. As if I need to say it, almost everything on this car is a one-off piece. See that twin exhaust system? It's a one-off. The manifold leading up to those twin tips is also a one-off piece. The entire suspension is also a one-of-a-kind system built exclusively for this car. Going by the decals on the car, I'd venture to guess that those pieces were manufactured by Espiler.

There are a few parts I can tell you about however. The 3.2 liter V6 gets some additional fuel into its cylinders thanks to some DIC-R injectors. I can't give you the specs on the injectors, but it would probably be safe to say that they are one-offs. Keeping the mid-mounted V6 cool is an ARC radiator. An ORC clutch has been added to ensure that all 276 horses reliably get to the ground.

On the inside, the driver sits in a Recaro seat, is held in place with a Takata harness and controls the car's direction with a FET steering wheel. I don't know what else is inside the cockpit - no one was allowed to look inside. I'll bet there are a lot of one-off pieces in there, though.

The wheels on this beast are massive: 18x9-inch Rays wheels sit up front while 19x13-inchers sit in the rear. All four rims are wrapped in sticky Bridgestone Potenza RE01-R rubber, sized 235/40R18 in front and 275/35R19 in the back. Project Mu brakes are sitting behind these rims to help slow this car down should it actually go too fast.

Much to my surprise, this car is actually drivable. The company that commissioned the car - PachiSlot maker Yamasa - actually has a video of this car in motion on a special site. Click here to check it out. When you're done with that, be sure to check out our own Media Page for more pics of this extremely unique ride.

I agree...
Not one of my favorite cars in the game, the fact that somebody could take a NSX and turn it into a game car , is impressive.

Nice. I really like some of the car models in the Ridge Racer series.
