RC car beats SC Mini 'round a "short track"

haha! this is awesome! So, this chick decides to race a RC car around the track in her supercharged mini cooper. She loses. The RC car even pits halfway through for new rubber! Great stuff!

haha.... would of been funnier if Clarkson was the one driving though. His commentary is much better lol.

alnielsen 05-30-2007 04:39 PM

That looks like it's from "Fifth Gear" and the driver was one of the hosts Vicky. She is OK as a driver, but I knew what the outcome of that was going to be.

dos 05-30-2007 04:49 PM

I would have drove over his damn car too!!

Keef 05-30-2007 05:15 PM

"my little supercharger isn't supercharging it up"

wow... She even loses control on a turn and comes too a stop... He only needs 1.5 hp too show the world that she sucks at driving...

Ike 05-30-2007 06:12 PM

She a pretty damn good driver and will whoop the ass of any of the couch driving experts in this thread.

Yes, it would have; but that clip was awesome. Poor boys rc car got ran over. lol

NoTears316 05-30-2007 06:54 PM

That ending was so messed up.

HolyCross05 05-30-2007 07:01 PM

I'd do her................

Ike 05-30-2007 07:03 PM

I can guarantee you that it was an old RC car that she ran over and not the one that she was racing. These guys spend countless hours every week getting the cars dialed in and adjusted just right. He's a professional RC car driver and there's no way he's allowing his main car gettying run over, even if he does just get a new one for free.

Oh thank God. I was really worried there for a minute. I'm glad everything worked out for him.

I still think it's quite impressive that he catches her after being a lap down.

That was nice!

When I was younger I had an HPI RS4 4wd nitro sedan- it ran on a .15cc 2-stroke single cylinder and a 2-speed auto transmission, it would do 75 or so mph and accelerated like a bat outta hell. Those things are a lot of fun!

I suppose. I've just know it for a very long time that a competition type RC car or kart will destroy just about any car on a short twisty track, so I guess it's not anything surprising to me. You should see if you have a local club or hobbyshop that has a track and go check it out some night or weekend when they have races, it's a total blast. I grew up racing karts when it was warm and RC when it was cold. I'll take a day of racing either over a day of autox every time. Though I would put trackdays just a little ahead of the RC on the fun scale, but certainly not karting.

The most impressive thing to me still is that there are people in this world that make a living driving "toy" cars :)

I was actually looking at one yesterday online. I found one that had a .18cc engine and out of the box did almost 75 MPH with a 2 speed tranny. Price was around 350 on the site I found it. MSRP was more like 560.

Wrong show. You are thinking of Top Gear. This clip is from 5th Gear.

Correct. She started racing when she was 12 and was a High performance driving instructor for a few years. I saw her win the Maserati race at the 2004 British Grand Prix and she was very quick.

I used to be big into R/C cars, and I shelled out some $$$, before getting into real cars. Nothing impressive about this, other then the driver of that Mini. She's amazing. Races like this are for entertainment purpose only, but even a novice R/C driver like me could beat anyone on here in their car on a track like that. Not a fair race at all. Its like a motorcycle vs a truck. LOL Still, it was fun to watch. :)
