I am going to replace the spark plugs on our Subaru, and I was wondering if I should replace the wires too, anyone have a recommendation. I know everyone seems to with the 8... Also, I assume the plugs are probably going to be gaped already, I am getting the stock ones.

How many miles? Of course, it won't hurt to replace the wires but it's probably not necessary unless you're experiencing a problem. Plugs are probably gapped but I always check them anyway. Reminds me of the good old days when my Dad first taught me how to do a tune up.

36,000 miles, I can do the wires next time I guess as long as I don't break something taking them off, lol.

my dad don't know much unfortunately, I am teaching myself everything :) at least you don't have to do timing on modern cars...

Or carburetor rebuilds! Or points!!!

haha yeah, I would be pretty clueless... "where's the MAF?..."

MAF? Heck, I remember when all you had was a circular air filter around the carburetor.
