Question about spark plug wells
My car is currently flooded. I went through the de-flooding process and it didn't work.
I am now in the process of replacing the plugs. When I took them out, they were wet and smelt like fuel. What is the best way to clean out the wells of the spark plugs? Thanks! |
crank with the pedal floored

It's better to replace it with new ones. :)

Monchie's Wisdom For The Ages - "new better than old"....brilliant.
Like Zoom says, crank with the plugs out, foot to the floor, about 20 seconds in five second bursts. If you hit the plug tips with a propane torch that will clear all the oil/fuel and leave them ̶c̶r̶i̶s̶p̶y̶ clean and fresh. |
Or, you can evaporate the fuel with a hair dryer as well if the flaming plug idea is not to your liking. Also, think about new coils. Flooding does not tear up the coils, but old coils can contribute in a big way to flooding.

its best to get a air gun blow out the spark plug whole and blow off di plugs and try a next time

^^ is even safer than hair dryer.
