I don't think that was in Japan, likely China.

Jeff_pap31s 01-22-2004 12:40 PM

Holy Canolli that is comedy!

I think that's pretty normal anywhere you have people too lazy to take their child to the restroom.

Rolland 01-22-2004 02:45 PM

What if he has to poop?

almost doesn't seem real.

1. why would you do it right in front of a car? why not off in a corner?

2. why would you pull his pants all the way down? no need to show off his ass just to pee.

Good observation! You could be right, look at the reflection on the car, where the left signal light is, no reflection of anything, looks pretty clear ahead of the car!

You obviously don't have kids. :D That's how they do it. I can't get my 4.5 year old to keep his pants up when he pees. Ahhh, the joys of potty training.

Think the mod made a mistake on this one... small boy peeing into a bottle in front of a Lamborgini display at a Japanese/Korean auto show. Just kinda cute, really. Nothing I wouldn't show my mother... Oh well. As the CPAs say, there's no accounting for taste.

cueball 02-11-2004 01:24 PM

You have to consider where many people surf this site, school, work, etc.
Would a picture like this get people in trouble at work or school?
There is a chance it might get for some people. I am trying to keep this place work safe.

Say you are surfing this site (might not be encouraged, but tolerated in certain environments) and you see a thread about a Lambo. You decide to open it and just as you do, a teacher/boss walks in a sees a kid pissing into a bottle. The boss/teacher thinks this site just went from a car site to who knows what.

If you really want to see the picture, PM RotaryStalker for the link.

I think your reason is fair enough cueball, but you are not supposed to be viewing the Rx-8 forum at School/work.. *tut tut* :D

RotaryStalker 02-11-2004 03:41 PM

I don't think it was edited because of the content of the picture. And IMO you'd have to be an anal retentive prude to consider it offensive.

Just today I've seen the work f*ck used in all its variations in a few posts. Will it be edited? Time will tell... I've seen posts never edited describing in detail how two men have sex together with gay slang intermixed. You can find the word "penis" here on several posts, and much worse you can actually see one in video in the "Think this girl panics?" thread in the lounge.

I copied the picture from an NSX forum, where it still remains today. Not one person complained on that forum or considered it offensive.

I can't understand how anyone would get fired for bringing up that link at work. A boss who doesn't mind you surfing the Rx-8 forum but gives you a pink slip when a picture depicts (with no genitals visible at all) a 3 yr old kid allegedly urinating in an opaque bottle.

Don't surf this forum at work period if you're worried about it getting you fired. There are a thousand things worse then the depiction of a natural event that has occured in one way or another to all of us at that age on these pages...

I found the picture funny, but I find the responses and attitudes about it even funnier. Some people just need to lighten up.

I've photo-chopped out the kid and will be slapping him on some pics in the future so try to keep those panties unwadded, those that find this sort of picture in violation of their high, overly p.c. standards.

Rotary, if you wish to post a similar pic again, just link it rather than make it a visable image.
I am not trying to be prudish or anal. I am just trying to keep everyone as happy as possible.:)

RotaryStalker 02-12-2004 06:27 PM

I guess my point was something more on long the lines of the irony of new age of political correctness and it's subtle effect on the moderation of some posts in some forums. Not directed at yourself cueball.

It's just interesting to me that people are ok with the picture here of a bunch of dead puppies as shown in this link

https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...threadid=20709

But this picture which I pulled from here is more offensive

http://www.nsxprime.com/forums/showt...threadid=28275

I'm 40 and don't understand. Certainly everyone with kids knows that their kids understand about urination? There are no exposed body parts and the babes in the background are laughing. I also seriously doubt there's anyone on this board who would say they would be in jepardy of losing their job because this popped up on a sports car forum link.

Elara 02-12-2004 07:27 PM

We've got jobs/school/families just like you guys do, and we can't catch everything. If you see something that could be considered offensive, instead of waiting and throwing it back at us later for not getting rid of it, why don't you tell us about it when it's posted? We call it as we see it (as Cueball did in this thread), but since this isn't a full time job, we can't be everywhere at once. Instead of complaining, send a private message asking why something was done, instead of making a big deal out of it in public.

RotaryStalker 02-13-2004 08:30 AM

Well if I PM'd you every time I saw something that some person somewhere would find offensive I'd be PMing you all day long.

I'm not ragging on the mods, my complaint is about the new age of political correctness where the theme seems to be that the lowest common denominator determines what is offensive and what is not.

I'm also laughing at anyone who would find this offensive. The presumption that anyone with half a brain would think this is some sort of porn pic off a golden shower site is just mind boggling.

RotaryStalker

Toadman 02-13-2004 03:44 PM

Offensive? Maybe or maybe not. Work-safe for lunch-time browsing without a text link? What do you think?

my complaint is about the new age of political correctness where the theme seems to be that the lowest common denominator determines what is offensive and what is not.
Unfortunately it is reality where people "push the envelope" to the ragged edge then cry censorship when they cross a line they may misinterpret. A popular forum rule of thumb is "Would you be embarrassed if your mom saw your post/pics?" Regardless your qualms are with the new age of PC. Many of us likely agree.

I've photo-chopped out the kid and will be slapping him on some pics in the future so try to keep those panties unwadded, those that find this sort of picture in violation of their high, overly p.c. standards.
We can debate "high overly PC standards and wadded panties" until the cows come home. It's still your call whether you wish to abide by the Forum's Terms Of Service. I understand your concern about forum "Netiquette" and it's not asking for much if you think about it. Really.
