I see that Porsche copied the RX8's suicide door opening design. How innovative !

And Mazda copied it from................I get so sick and tired of people saying that. Plenty of cars had the suicide door design way before Mazda.

Yep, but not in many if any true sports cars !

Fraze it anyway you like, Mazda did not invent the suicide door design, so anyone who uses the door design on their cars is not copying Mazda. I'm sure the Porsche designers were all looking at the RX8 when they were drawing up the e. Give it a rest already, we had to hear how everybody was copying the 8's door design when it first came out even though it had been done plenty of times before.

Mazda gets well-deserved points for doing it in a true sports car. Of course in my 64 years I have seen suicide doors on other cars before. lol back at you.

Come on guy, it is obvious Mazda copied Saturn since they revealed that door design on the Saturn Ion in 2002, and you how much of a trend setter Saturn was as a company and the Saturn Ion Redline was faster than the RX-8 so Sports Car that.

Actually- There were Porsche designers in attendance when the RX-8 launched at NAIAS in Jan 2003. They were heard very clearly saying " This is what we should be building" amongst other praise. It was thought to be in reference to their SUV at the time. The Panamera , even without freestyle doors, is the result of that. Being a descendant of the Panamera, the Misson E could then be said to be influenced by the RX-8.

ACCCCCTUALLY- The RX-Evolve was first shown at NAIAS in Jan 2000 freestyle doors already in place- 2 years before the Saturn was first shown

ACCCCCTUALLY- The RX-Evolve was first shown at NAIAS in Jan 2000 freestyle doors(and integrated b-pillar) already in place- 2 years before the Saturn was first shown. If fact the final near production prototype of the RX-8(sadly having lost the clamshell hood and the cool little hood vents) was shown at NAIAS in Jan 2002, 2 months before the Scion launched at the NY Auto Show
