it only cost 3 million yen for the V6, so thats well under $30k
V8 will probably cost up there... 60k+ along the lines of Z06 and probably a little less than the GT-R. unlike the GT-R though, this one will be NA, so it wont have the same bullet proof engine of the previous Supra tt that can handle tons and tons of boost.

4th picture
Is it me or does the 4th picture kind of look like a smooth Tiburon?
since no one has said it yet, ill go ahead and say it. it looks like the rx8
i really like it. it looks great in pearl white.
looks like the bastard child of an aston martin + infiniti g35... looks great tho. the green is very cool- would look even better w/ a black interior.
I just noticed what I assume is the weight, 1400kg (3080lbs). That's a lot lighter than I would have thought. We can only hope it stays that way!
I love the back end but I'm only luke warm about the front. This would have been a very stylish car in 2005.....but for 2008/9.......needs to be a little more edgy. This is not enough of a risk for a car that could potentially be in production from 2008-2011 in the same form.
i like .
the back is my favorite....the sides kind of 'expected'...fronts pretty cool. |
Are these NA or FI?
3.5 V6 making 330-350HP.....is this with FI????
I find it hard to believe this is N/A hp. |
The front looks weird. Everything else seems good. But wow... hard top convertible... I thought that woulda added a lotta weight. But if blueeyes is correct on the 3080lbs. wow.
Technology is getting better everyday. the current top V6 is 3.5L making 306 hp by toyota (lexus). They have a few years to go to hit that 330 mark.

Sure technology is getting better.....but everything has limits. I would say that they are already reaching those limits with 306hp N/A........trying to get another 24-44 hp is really stretching it. Remember, the OEM's run engines at about 80% of their potential to promote engine life. It easy for the aftermarket to play with timing and fuel maps to pull more power from the engine.....but the aftermarket is not concerned with you getting to 100K+ miles.....Toyota is. I would be shocked if they can actually pull 330-350hp out of the 3.5 N/A when this car is in production trying to meet EPA testing and Toyota's self imposed reliability testing. |
Daddy Like! :aroused: thanks for sharing!
WOW! It's a 350Z, and it comes in a V8. :) Did the Z stylist start working for Toyota??
gonna be a totally different car if, IF, it ever gets made. And expect those HP numbers to come way down.
^ yes, I'm only satisfying myself with the stated horsepower because I know they will come down. It'll make me feel better about not getting a supra. ;)
That looks better than all the other Supra concept pictures out there. I actually like it. I'll bet the Supra purists out there will hate the fact that the inline 6 is gone but that is such a long engine it isn't terribly practical anymore. It wouldn't surprise me to see this as naturaly aspirated. I know alot of people will hate that as turbo cars are easy to get moving alot faster for cheaper but from a manufacturing and reliability standpoint keeping it n/a is a good idea. I'd like to see this hit the market. Not too wild about the convertible aspect though. I've never been one for verts.
