Perhaps new engine swap in 2017
Mazda has decided to bring back the RX-7 in 2017, marking 50 years since the introduction of Mazda’s first rotary-engined car, According to Mazda Motor Corporation’s Sports Car Chief Nobuhiro Yamamoto, the new generation RX-7 will be lighter, less complex, and will deliver a greater emphasis on driver involvement.
The new RX-7 will most likely be powered by a naturally-aspirated version of the new 16X rotary engine with an output of about 300 HP. A turbo version is also a possibility, but will occur later in the RX-7’s life. 300hp for our rx-8, stock engine :boink: just have to wait till someone totals a new RX-7. |
im waiting till my orignal engine grenades, then my reman grenades... by then there should be a few totalled ones around.

Because this isn't about an RX8, I'm moving the thread to this forum.
Sorry but, the news article you have linked is 3 months old and the information is well known in the rotary world. An engine swap, as suggested, will be difficult and very (price of a new car) expensive. |
Are you a Looper? Is this 2012 again?
