I'd assume they'd do some quick test on the chassis (unless cracks and bends are obvious) and test's on the engine. Be a complete loss/waste to just toss the entire car without checking it to me atleast.

I'm still sad I was hoping to see the SS 8 in this race longer than a lap, hell its the primary reason I'm staying home and away from the GF this afternoon (hehe). Also I didnt know the race was a long endurance race.

Ahh they are talking to Patrick Dempsey right now about driving the #40 Sobe Rx-8. He seems like a cool guy and aprently does alot of racing who knew?

i guess that goes for a couple of us here as well, staying home just to watch this race............ only to see what that pontiac did to our SS 8... ...

the Sobe RX-8 is still doing amazing, they're currently 10th with half the race to go. TV coverage should be back on soon.

As for next season, I hope more teams gain interest on running the RX-8 against Porsche. The Hypersport team (no ties with Mazdaspeed) is showing that the car can run in the top spots.

the rules must be checked for next season, the pontiacs have a large avantage over the other cars, the mazda its just not capable of runing with the front runers, the pontiacs are more than 3 seconds a lap faster than the mazda, the porches 2 seconds

I think they should let the mazda run the same tires as the rest of the cars

 

Jon dounang just said in an enterview that they sold one more car to a formula mazda team and they are about to close the deal on 2 more for next season

Yah, why not the new M3. The new M3 is powered by a V8 now, so it'll be good advertising as well..... M6 is ugly as hell too... The announcers were talking about how strong the BMW V8 is in the DPs, this M6 should be fast, and its fielded by a very good team.

I cant wait for next year's race. I forsee it'll be Porsche vs Mazda, with SS leading the pack of 8s, well and the two G6s (GM factory backed), I dont think any new teams will join the G6s boat tho.
