I understand. It was your first car. You bought a USDA prime Porterhouse when what you really wanted was a Quarterpounder with Cheese.
To him, you're driving a quarterpounder, and he's in the porterhouse. Different strokes man. What's better for you isn't the rule and nobody but you cares about it.

If you go from an 8 to a GTO or Mustang then you never really should have been in an 8 to begin with is all he is saying. It wasn’t the car for you. There are cars I like better than the 8, they are just too expensive to get. I’m not adverse to muscle either as I like the new Camaro concept and that is definitely muscle.

The 8 is a different class of car and doesn’t really have any direct competition. The closest thing to it would be a G35 coupe IMO. Does anyone know of any other 4-door coupes out there in the price bracket of the RX8?

This is true and as long as you have the $$$ to do that I say enjoy. In that case it is neither an loss or win by just a change of taste.

Spending just $4K wouldn't get you the straight line performance of the GTO. The test results from the Car and Driver PTP turbo article prove that.
Who wants anything to-do with a strait line. Last time I looked I was not sporting a mullet.

Not everyone lives in an area with twisty roads. For some of us, the roads are relentlessly flat and straight, for miles and miles.

The type of car has nothing to-do with that statement. The type of racing does.

Drag Racing => Mullet
Nascar => Mullet

"Gee my car sure goes fast in a strait line" too bad that is only usefull in one way.

You know whats crazy? I've been on a few race tracks in my life, and in between each of the corners were these weird straight parts of track, I think they called them straight aways or some such thing. I don't know, I didn't have a mullet when I was going fast in a straight line towards the next corner, nor did anyone else. I didn't have a mullet when I was accelerating out of the corner faster than other cars either. weird eh?

Too bad you're too close minded to appreciate any form of car and/or racing.

a car is generally graded by what? 0-60 and 1/4 mile times no matter what car you drive those are the tests done to it. when 1 car goes faster than another its more sought after a viper or z06 goes faster in a straight line than the GTO does that mean the person driving it has a mullet?

Grats on the car. IMO, the GTO from the side reminds me of the Dodge avenger or intrepid and the hood front of the grand prix. With that in mind, I'll never buy one since they don't appeal to my tastes in cars.

Tim

1) Once again, what does a type of car have anything to do with what I said. You are going in circles.

2) I fail to see it writen anywhere I have to agree with you or others. If that was the case this would not be called a forum.

1) because you are stereotyping GTO drivers as having mullets because they like to go fast in a straight line.
