Nissan GT-R SpecV Video Review *MUST SEE*
The GT-R SpecV still isn't out yet, but it looks like Nissan is starting to reach out to the media. Lucky bastards...

Sounds sexy on the 1/4 mile clips; are they using the same tranny in the spec?

According to a few mags, it's not worth the extra money. No power upgrades just weight reduction and brakes.

The link apperes to be broken

Forget the Spec-V. Get the Hennessey GTR 600 for less money.

They added 5 horsepower and lost 130 lbs. WOW. TOTALLY justifies the doubled pricetag. The brakes would be the biggest upgrade but they're heavy over-kill for the road. They don't wear out as quickly but they also don't bite as hard. They're made for endurance, not responsiveness. Not very good for a street car.
Nissan's bang for the buck has apparently turned around and bit them in the ass. Its not a great quality machine for the pricetag, they just cheaped out on several key components built by the lowest bidder's employee's retarded son. Common knowledge that the transmission can't take a beating, yet Nissan advertise this as a supercar. You can drive a 911 Turbo or Z06 hard all day and they don't complain? Epic fail Nissan. Take your $15,000 exhaust upgrade that adds 5 horsepower somewhere else. |
Right on the Money

I see the only purpose of buying Spec V to be the bragging rights of owning a "Spec V" R35 GT-R. If that's what you want and have the money then fine but I would take the regular GT-R to some reputable tuning outfit and have them tune or install some more reasonable upgrades (and nicer looking wheels) to much better effect.

$50k dollar brakes... Wow..
