Its the new rat rod look I guess for newer cars. So VW really didn't start the trend and I guess on the late 80's early 90s cars it's not as bad as the new VW with it.

Actually this goes back to the days of the rat rods in the 1940's may be earlier.

VWs and Civics have nothing in common with rat rods aside from the fact that all three of them are completely played out and have been done to death.

Rat Hondas/VW's. Not so much.

Not really saying that they are Rat Rods, just saying the IDEA of rusty cars goes back to Rat Rods. So it really isn't a new trend, just re-applied.

This trend is spreading down here in socal - it's complete and utter trash - may the originator die in a fire
