new sonata looks pretty impressive

hyundai and kia are really giving the japanese companies a hard time now. glad to see korea doing well.
|
That dial for the navigation looks really out of reach for the driver...
|
The HVAC controls is awesome. Love the styling and Merc. CLS roof line. Never thought i would say this about a Sonata.
|
Saw some spy shots earlier that showed the Sonata going swoopy - looks like the spy shots were right. Looks sharp. Certainly better looking than the current one and better than the awkward Accord and boring Camry. Hyundai seems to just keep getting better every year. Wish the same could be said for Toyota and Honda.

i was next to a current Sonata yeserday and i was struck by how much it looked like a Millenia

Mazda needs to return into a upscale sedan market or 4 door coupè-sedan.
look at passat CC or the rumored 4 door acura/honda based on TSX/EUaccord... |
reminds me of the genesis line.. especially the back lights. that design is really working for them
|
Kind of reminds me of the Lexus ES 300 with the interior of an Infiniti.
|
has the lights of a genesis coupe the nav setup of nissan/infiniti ac vents and dash design of a caddy cts ac controls of volvo ... its not bad but they really need to start making their own SH*T ...
|
lol at least the genesis parts are their own =]
|
lol yeah true that i wonder if they even have designers or just use professional photoshop users to modify others designs and build em .. seriously lol

still a hyundai.

I think the current gen camry is pretty sharp at least vs the last couple of genres since the mid 1990s. As for copying design elements from other brands, its nothing new, everyone does it. Including Mazda on the rx8 :)
I dont think the US version of the car's interior would be this nice, but 18k starting price is certainly pretty sweet. The perception of hyundai's brand has come a long way since the early 90s when all their cars were crap. |
The interior looks pretty good, like a cross between camry simplicity and infiniti style. I'm not sold on the front end though. It looks like they're going to struggle to find their own identity for a while instead of copying other automakers. I'd choose a CC over the sonata any day.

it looks like 20 other cars in o
look how bad the paint job is on this car http://www.autoblog.com/gallery/fran...-b1-hybrid/#11 |
i like it, i would buy it

We just purchased an 09 Santa Fe yesterday. Got an awesome deal. It is a very quality car so far and my wife is hooked on XM after 1 day of having it (30 days free).
all ready ordered Nerf/running boards for. Sure beat paying 500 dollars at the dealership for them. We tried a Tucson with the v4 and it was terrible. Out of all the Hyundai's we tried, it was by FAR the worst. SOOO under powered. the v6 one wasn't bad but there were impossible to find and we got a better deal on the Santa Fe and there was no way would could have gotten an 09 Tucson for the price that we got. Hyundai as come a LONG way. |
Hyundai (Kia) seem to be on a roll while most of the Japanese manufacturers are stagnant, esp. Honda and Toyota.
|
I just got back from Seoul (had meeting @ Hyundai hq), and spotted several of their new Equus luxury sedans there. I guess this is the one that's coming to the US in 2010 to compete w/ MB S-Class & Lexus LS, etc. Caught a pic, below.....even though it def. takes some cues (okay, *copies*) those cars, it does have a definite presence of its own. Shape makes it look smaller than it is. Didn't get a peek inside, but it will be interesting to see how it stacks up w/ the big saloons of the competition.

Hyundai just keeps getting better and better. Bravo! :)
|
meh Id rather have a used Mazdaspeed 6 or an 03+ Saab 9-3 Vector and turn the boost up to 20psi
|
Except its a Hyundai.. not a fan of that brand

2010 MS3 beats Hyundai Genesis 3.8 - Edmunds
Oops meant to post new thread.

Good that there are becoming more options for us to go through rather that just a few brands here and there.
|
hyundai is really impressing me; they really have done well for themselves are are beginning to come into their own. they are, however, becoming more of a toyota than a honda. still, i'd actually buy a hyundai car now
