new project car what do you think

ok so im looking for a new project to work on and here are my two options. yes I do plan on getting a mid 70's muscle car and I am looking for a "project" to work on here and there, not something that is complete.

the c3 does not have working break system it needs new pads, lines, master cylinder and 2 new calipers for the rear other than that its in good shape for its age and especially for its price.

the z28 starts runs has 2 sets of seat, 2 sets of lights, new carpet new headliner and a working break system. but everything is taken apart and would need to be put back together so what do you guys think? and please dont just bash on my decision to rebuild an old muscle car just want to know if you guys think that these two are worth it.

C3 headlight are vacuum operated and a nightmare from what I remember due to the limited parts. Either one would take a serious investment.

renesisjim 06-11-2009 04:57 PM

I say the vette. the headlights would be vacuum operated, but they have been swapped out, so not a problem. When it comes down to it a vette is a vette no matter the generation

mscamp02 06-11-2009 05:04 PM

^yeah I was worried about the headlights and turning them back to stock but that is not an issue as of yet.....

as far as the investment goes I plan on slowly working on it over the next year or so

You need to find a FD

mscamp02 06-11-2009 05:23 PM

I'd rather stick with a muscle car than an FD......

forgot to mention the z28 is a 4 speed standard and the c3 is an auto

mscamp02 06-11-2009 09:44 PM

no other opinions?

Get an FD. If you don't and you have the option. I will throw up.

SiLVeRE8 06-11-2009 10:26 PM

I say miata

Rotr8 06-11-2009 10:33 PM

F that get a RX3 or RX2

Alexb 06-11-2009 10:35 PM

really. Just don't get one of this. Get a car that you don't have yo spend your pension on to actually get it running. These cars had issues when they were new.... You should get a car that has a following of people that can help, as well as available parts.

i agree, friend of mine has one, very fast , runs low 12's now

SayNoToPistons 06-12-2009 05:00 AM

Another vote for a RX2 or RX3.

mscamp02 06-12-2009 08:34 AM

Both of the cars run with recently rebuilt engines.....they just dont stop.

I def dont dig the rx2 or rx3.....thought about the 240sx before, and if i was to get a miata it would have to be just a shell cuz I would have to put an ls1 in it

yah i agree. i am not sure why i never been a fan of the FD. but hey you can always get a the best 7 ever an FC :). but as for 80's muscle car, i would try to find the Turbo Charged Trans-Am . which the Gran National uses the same engine.
or get a gran national :).

mscamp02 06-12-2009 08:54 AM

^I was really trying to stay away from the 80's but early 80's before the body styles switched over to the horrible blocky shit is still alright......like the 6.6 trans am

XlYesterdaYlX 06-12-2009 09:43 AM
