BTW...There are currently about 60 TSB for the CX-5 and 2014 Mazda 6, about 95% of them are all for the CX-5.
So again if you want them all uploaded here let me know? We are not a 6 or CX-5 Forum, so I don't really know if there are even specific forums for these models yet?, I have not looked and frankly have no need or time to joint them. Perhaps if you (SNTP) can get a consensus from other Skyactiv members here on the RX-8 club, then I will re-title TSB with a heading and post in a specific thread... But, I am not doing so if it is not needed or necessary. |
I would definitely like to have the TSB's.
There aren't many nuisances for my 2013 CX-5 (9/2012 build) other than the rattles at ~3000 miles. I still haven't brought it to the dealership for service yet as I want to look into the rattling problems closer so I don't get turned down for service. There only seems to be three active members with SkyActiv cars on here, including me of course. I'll post in the two Mazda6 owner threads on here soon. |

So the SkyActiv 2.5 is the same compression ratio in all countries?
I thought it was lower in the US, like on the 2.0 engine... Or do they change the shape/size of the cylinder head to lower the compression ratio? BC. |

Hi, ASH i've also ordered a 2.5 AT wagon...TSB would be good for me...it seems that 2.5 have common specs for all the world....and here is EU is very difficult to get info for the low % of sales of this type of engine....

It appears all the so called different compression ratio's are BS for 2014 Mazda 6, or ' ECU tuned' (I would like to know how). As ALL ,repeat ALL 2.0 Litre Skyactiv Engines in Mazda 3, CX-5 and 2014 Mazda 6 2.0 use the exact same Cylinder Heads, Valves and Camshafts....NO Difference, for ALL Countries. PE01-12-111 Inlet Valves PE01-12-121 Exhaust PE01-10-100 Head PE01-12-420 Camshaft PE01-12-440 Camshaft Same for 2.5 Litre used in Mazda 6 and CX-5 PY01-12-111 Inlet Valves PY01-12-121 Exhaust PY01-10-100 Head PY01-12-420 Camshaft PY01-12-440 Camshaft So there you go.. That is why I love EPC's, provided you know what you are doing, it cuts through all the BS and Marketing BS, if the Part Number is the same then....the part is the same. Like the 2013 NC MX-5, with so called improved Brake Booster and Engine Tune, according to Mazda's marketing spin, well guess what the part numbers are identical to the 2012, 2011, 2010 and 2009, so again more BS...in fact there are NO mechanical changes to 2013 Miata, only a front face-lift....OH Europe/UK get the pop up/blow up Bonnet/Hood. |
What about the part numbers for the camshaft phasers?
You know, those parts that are connected to the timing chain, and actually modulate the intake and exhaust profiles according to ECU inputs? Are those the same or different? Sorry, that's the last real part I can think of that changes camshaft profile outside of ECU programming. But is sounds like we would love it if you made a thread/forum just for SkyActiv updates. You mean the VVT Actuators connected to the Camshafts (Inlet and Exhaust)..

But yes, 2.5 and 2.2 D Mazda 6 uses larger Front Bar GHT6-34-151 2.0 Mazda 6 uses 2.5 CX-5 Front Bar KD61-34-151 2.0 CX-5 uses a smaller again Front Bar KD35-34-151 So an upgrade for CX-5 owners can use 2.5 Mazda 6 Front Sway Bar. Drop Links are all the same for all and from original CX-5 KD35-34-170 (2). Like the RX-8 and NC Miata/MX-5, these 2 new Mazda's (CX-5 and 6) use the same shared architecture design. |

I'm adding that nugget to my parts list collection. How about the rear differentials? Would it be possible to put the torsen limited slip parts from an RX-8/MX-5 into the CX-5? I know there would be the ring and pinion changes, but having limited slip in the rear of the CX-5 would only add to its winter/mud/off-road abilities. I'd imagine DSC to kick in before the LSD can even be of use. I was playing around in snow today with TSC off (can't disable DSC), and DSC would kick in at any given opportunity. E-brake locks the rear wheels only even when moving as the AWD system releases the multi-clutch in the rear diff upon engagement of the e-brake. Optional FWD :rofl: .

yes to bushings.
No variety for Rear Sways, except they are different or each model, I assume the rear 6 will fit on a CX-5 but cant confirm, CX-5 has one for 2WD and one for 4WD. An interesting observation is the REAR Bars on the CX-5 and 6 looks similar in design to the Fronts on RX-8 and Miata, and the REAR Bars on the RX-8 and Miata looks similar to the Fronts on CX-5 and 6. |

Apologies :lol: ... The headunit with the 5.8" LCD screen that leaves the option open for add-on's such as the U.S. "Tech Pack". I believe they are entirely different parts due to the software change and the additional chrome accents in between the buttons for the 2014. Just wondering the part numbers for 2013 and 2014 for said headunit.

Did some prelim checks, you know these units to buy are between $1300 and $1900 USD depending on specs and transmission and sound system and VIN..
The ONLY parts you can buy separately are the two Knobs KD45-66-BC1 @ $8 each, everything else is ONLY available as a complete assembly @ the prices I have shown, certainly nothing below $1300 for OEM unit. As I said , depends on VIN and car specs. |
