Need for Speed Undercover pics of my ride

So far the game is pretty good, a little short, but good none the less. The chase sequences are fun, the racing is alright, wish the racing could be in 60 fps, other wise 30 fps is adequate except when there is alot of cars on screen , then it slows down terribly. The story is alright too, some parts are cheezy , some parts draw you in. The car selection is very nice, ranging from budget sports cars to high dollar hyper cars.

The rim selection is much better than previous NFS games, the body kits got cut back which is a good thing in IMO , NFS constantly used the same kits from the first underground back in 2000, which showed laziness on there part. Now you can choose 4 kits and one autosculpt kit where basically you can design your own body kit, that is what i have been using mostly. There is more selection of paint to paint your ride, custumize it with decals add wings from mild to wild. Carbon fiber parts play a big factor in this game for some reason.

The world is freaking HUGE! 4 cities all connected by highways and bi-ways! Kudos to EA for making such a large world to drive in. You will be in the city driving, jump on the highway and next thing you know your driving to the country , then to the ocean side, then through some small town on the way to the next city. The overall look reminds me of Burnout paradise.

The game is like Most Wanted , if you like Most Wanted you will love this game!
Think of NFS Undercover as Most Wanted 2.0.

Well here are the pics of my Silvia, this is the car I started my career out with. I have in my stable a RX-7, Audi TT, Porsche 911 GT2, and currently that I am driving a heavily modified Gallardo! I get pics of all of them shortly.

Yup you are exactly right, the 180sx is the 240sx over here. Its a shame the S15 never made it over here , due to the rise of the SUV craze in the mid 90's, people were know longer interested in small sporty cars. Now look , everybody and there grand mother is dumping there SUV's for a small sporty car! Its funny how everything goes full circle.....

The S15 has a timeless look to it, one of the better designs from Nissan, some times they just get right, and sometimes they just get it wrong when it comes to designing cars. The S15 is one design they got it right from scratch!

Nice screens - I'll see if I can get some of my Undercover screens up tonight.

jjc3925 12-09-2008 02:01 PM

so this is the PC version right?

i thought about gettin it for 360

lilring 12-09-2008 02:06 PM

I have it for 360 and it is pretty fun. i agree some parts are kinda lame though but at the same time there are parts that draw you in.. Currenly I have a RX8, RX7, and the Concept Challenger...

DAILYDRIVER2K5 -- You made those rims huge on the nissan. lol.. looks clean though a lot better than the one i had

CyberPitz 12-09-2008 03:35 PM

I really need to download this and take a quick look at it. From the looks, and what you say, it is a lot Most Wanted, I loved it.

canaryrx8 12-09-2008 03:45 PM

It's pretty fun but it does get chunky when there's a lot on the screen. I really wish they'd license the Meister's if they're going to use Work wheels, every game I've played has practically every Work wheel except mine  I have the PS3 version, is there some secret to connecting to EA online? What's with the EA HD menu also? I haven't looked into all that yet, just wondering if someone else already did.

I have the PS3 version too, just sign up with EA when the game starts. From there you can grab your photos off there website, which EA gives you a sub website that has your stats, photos, etc.

Yeah I wish EA would have gotten more of a selection too, although there list of wheels is a long one.

dmc27 12-10-2008 10:38 AM

Nice. Simple, clean. I like your style. Though it looks like that wheel is a 24??? wayyyy too big.

I'm glad to hear it is like Most Wanted. Carbon was terrible, imo. Didn't play ProStreet.

Hopefully Santa will come through with this one.

Yeah I noticed that too about my rims:lol: , unfortunately this game doesn't tell you the size of the rims like Midnight Club.

Carbon was a let down as it felt unfinished....
Pro street , I almost broke the disc because that game just sucked so badly!
That had to be the worst NFS game ever!:banghead:

dmc27 12-10-2008 12:03 PM

The previous NFS games always gave you at least a few size options when purchasing.

So U/C doesn't let you select the rim size?

Or where those the wheels it came with?

(not that it would stop me from getting this game anyway . . . :lol2: )

You can alter diameter, rim width, offset, and tire width with slider bar's that go from 0- 100%. What puzzles me is the fact that I've found no way to actually lower your car no matter what level of suspension you put on it. You have to put huge rims on it to make it even look lowered.

Razz1 12-10-2008 03:51 PM

interesting..............

RXheart 12-10-2008 04:23 PM

I always thought it was funny on NFS games if you upgrade the engine on the RX7/8, you would upgrade the cams and pistons .

that is driving me bonkers! I can't find a way either, what good is upgraded suspension in the virtual world if you can't drive around tucking tire etc. ?

I do like that about midnight club, I can slam and/or donk just about anything, I had a GTI on 24's for a while all lifted up, license plate said "ewwwww"

Yeah, midnight club gives you way more options for customization - loved how you can change the exact real world tire/wheel dimensions and then lower an inch at a time. You can make some sick looking rides in that game.

I didn't notice this before Daily, but you have almost the exact same lineup I did. RX-8, Audi TT, RX-7, 911 GT-2, Gallardo, Lotus Elise, 370Z - that was the first round. I started the career again to get different cars (can't earn enough money) and now have only Escort Cosworth, Toyota Supra so far. I wish I would have taken pics of the earlier cars.

Cool.... I am 92% done with the game . So what are your thoughts so far , since you beat it?

apocolypse31 12-11-2008 07:26 AM

i kinda skimmed through this thread,so dont know if any of you pointed it out or not..but don't know about you guys,i was pretty shocked when they took the subaru out the game, yet they still have the evo's in..i liked the suby's..just my opinion..

Well here was my previous rant/review from the gaming thread, it still completely puzzles me how Black Box can put out a game w/ such terrible framerate. Is yours like that? It seems the X360 version runs alot smoother based on what I read. Not so bad when you are the only car on screen but when 10 cops are there it falls apart. Midnight Club: LA has an extremely fast sense of speed and instead of looking like a deserted town w/ a few civilian cars here and there it is full of functioning traffic, pedestrians walking around, and crashable objects everywhere with no framerate issues whats so ever. As long as I don't put Midnight Club back in then NFS isn't unplayable. The cop chase scenarios are still much better in NFS than Midnight Club though just like Most Wanted/Hot Pursuit was.

Agreed. It has good stuff like nice menu interfaces, high quality video cut scenes, decent car selection, great cop radio audio, decent road layouts and the cop chases can be fun but you never get enough money to buy and tune the all the cars you would want (especially since the game is so short)(oh - but you can spend more real money and buy the cars/parts you want though Playstation Store as if you would want to spend more money beyond the $60 you already dropped for this trash), the framerate/sense of speed on PS3 is absolutely pathetic and inexcusable on a modern $60 game from a company as big as EA (almost stops when you have 2 or more cars on the screen)(I mean the game is called Need For Speed - what speed?), you have the same 2 ugly-ass body kits from the previous 2 or 3 NFS games, 5% of the tunability/customization that Midnight Club has, when you activate nitrous on your car you don't soar past the opponents like you think you would - you just stay in the same relative position, no dash views, you can be doing 230 mph and a Cop SUV will blow by you like you are standing still - just a lot of stupid stuff. The game could have been so much more but it looks as if it was rushed and never polished or completed - typical modern NFS series just banking off of their name w/ no substance to back it up. Some fun can be had in the cop chases but the horrible execution of the graphics spoils this completely. Midnight Club LA makes this game almost worthless.

can you guys post pics of the rx8 in game? i would like to see how that looks in game vs reality lol.
