So I finally got some pictures uploaded from adding a new mod on to my MS6. I was able to purchase a set of R3 wheels from a rx8club member and installed it! Definitely looks better than the stock 18x7 wheels.
Installed on 9/27/2014 Here is a comparison picture of the two wheels. Attachment 220758 Some pictures of the install Attachment 220759 Attachment 220760 Attachment 220761 My comparison picture of the 19's on the rx8 and the new r3 wheels on the MS6 Attachment 220762 No jacks on the car.... look at that ride height... Attachment 220763 Good thing I switched out my wheels, one tire was in bad shape, gonna need to check the alignment. Attachment 220764 9/30/2014 Ordered a whole bunch of parts for the MS6. A sneak peak of whats to come :) Attachment 220765 Attachment 220766 Attachment 220767 |

10/2/2014 Update
So started the install on all the parts I purchased for my Mazdaspeed6. Here is the list of things i got... - Corksport 4pot Big Brake Caliper Attachment 220740 - Stoptech Slotted Brakes Attachment 220741 - H&R Coilovers Attachment 220742 - SPC Adjustable Ball Joint Attachment 220743 So the first day of work was halted by one main factor... i did purchase the mazdaspeed6 in Oregon and a lot of the fasteners were seized. Mainly the 17mm bolt that holds the front brake bracket , the 17mm bolt that holds the rear brakes and the stupid Philips head fasteners that hold the brake rotor to the hub. With the help of WD-40 and another penetrating liquid (can't remember the name) and time, i was able to use a mallet with a wrench to brake the 17mm bolts free but those darn Philips heads... Here's a picture of the front brake bracket while waiting on the penetrating liquid to settle in. Attachment 220744 Some pictures after fully removing the brakes... and also those philip heads... Attachment 220745 Attachment 220746 I was able to use a step bit with my drill to drill the philips head off finally loosening the rotors! Yay! Trust me, i tried everything.. wish i had an impact driver at this time.. Well, after removing everything, i had to clean the rusty hub and cleaned my rear calipers and prepped them for painting to try to match the front. Attachment 220747 Attachment 220748 Will be getting to bed now to rest up for the big day tomorrow. With the brakes off and fluid removes, it's time for me to get the suspension off and the H&R's on before the new brakes and the ball joint goes in. And hopefully the rear calipers will come out decently to match the front. Will update tomorrow! Thanks for reading! |
Nice selection of car's and mod's good luck

Update: 10/6/2014
So it's been several since i started work on the MS6 and after several set backs due to seized fasteners, ridiculous fastener placements, girlfriend, dogs, work and two injuries from the install, i'm finally ALMOST done! Yay! Haha. So, here are some updated pictures of the build. Front's are done and just need brake fluid and bleeding :) Attachment 220694 Attachment 220695 Right Rear is just about done, need to torque the bolts on the brakes and confirm torque for all suspension components. I used my impact gun for the fasteners and just want to make sure it's good. Though the B*tch bolt for the shock is cross threading and going in crooked, I'm going to either have the dealership or a shop see what they can do to secure it. I feel so defeated after trying to install it three or four times.........After securing all the fasteners, time to bleed the brakes. Attachment 220696 I know the color doesn't match the front, i'm probably going to primer white over it and then paint it blue to get a bit lighter and more vibrant blue. It will be time to work on the LH side, i'll only be putting an hour or two while i have work for the rest of the week but after the experience i had with the RH side, i'm sure it will be a breeze. I wouldn't mind spending the money to have the dealership or a shop drop the rear sub slightly to secure the shock bolts though, safety first! I understand coming from a manufacturing point of view why they did that but when working on it to try to just switch the shocks, damn, they couldn't have made it a bit easier... I wonder how many people try to fix up their Tesla's now cause i know they our cars are not easy to work on, haha. Oh, here's a sneak peek of something for the FD ;) well, it's more of a pleaser than a teaser :P Attachment 220697 Attachment 220698 I still got to take picture of the other things for the FD, can you guys guess what it is??? Thanks for reading! |

So it's been awhile since i've posted an update. Took some pictures of the car at my work's parking lot. Just some teaser pictures. I still need to get my rear fenders rolled and probably lower the car another 1/2" and do an alignment. But here are some pictures with the new rotors and front new calipers as well!
Attachment 220610 Attachment 220611 Will be getting the fenders rolled tomorrow at Motorsports Technique in Hayward. I do recommend going to them if you're in the area, they did my RX-8 very well and helped troubleshoot some issues with rubbing against the inside fender liner, they charge a little more than other shops but i do trust them not to crack the paint and everything. Will also get my alignment done here or at AutoRnD, both are great places. |

It's been quite some time since i last posted anything on here. Here are some updates!
RX-8: Nothing new, still sitting in the garage, changed the oil last month. Mazdaspeed 6: Readjusted the height to sit a little lower, need new upper mounts for the front shocks, getting some noise up there. Will be ordering a Mazdaspeed Cold Air Intake in the near future and the Corksport TMIC. RX-7: Updates below :) 4/6/2016: Installed Spirit R Gauge Cluster and Spirit R Head unit (Thanks: Ramy). Would of went with an aftermarket system but loving the stock look for the FD. Attachment 218022 Attachment 218023 Attachment 218024 Attachment 218024 Attachment 218026 Need to upgrade my other Dash Lights now. Attachment 218027 Got two sets of wheels ready for the FD: BBS RG-R (Refinished) and MS-01 (Refinished). RG-R will be going on first. BBS = 18x8.5 +42 / 18x9.5 +38 MS01 = 18x8 (forgot offset) / 18x9 (forgot offset) Attachment 218028 Attachment 218029 Attachment 218030 (Tried something new with the center caps, might put this on the rx8 as well) Attachment 218031 I just purchased tires two days ago, went with 235/40/18 and 265/35/18 RE-11's. Should get them today or tomorrow. Stay tuned! Also, got a bunch of parts in for the rx8, need to get the rebuild going so i can utilize everything. Will take pictures this weekend. |

Just an update for everyone...
RIP Mazdaspeed6, it is sad to see you go... After a long few weeks at work, i accidentally rear ended someone on the way home two weeks ago. Due to the Mazdaspeed6 being lowered, it sustained about $12k worth of damages and now is being totaled. I'm definitely going to miss the boost on her. https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...0d84f12b6d.jpg I've already put down a deposit on my new car while i'm waiting for the insurance check to come in. Can you guess what i'll be getting next? *cries* |
Man, what do you do for a living? I think I'm in the wrong profession.

|
Did you try to trade in that rx7 at the fremont carmax a few weeks ago?

Not apart of my build but if you're interested in the Evo X, did a review on it!

Almost forgot that this existed! Sorry about that! Haven't done anything much to the FD, just getting a bunch of parts in now. The newest thing that the FD has is the Mazsdaspeed CF Intake finally! Thanks @RX048R for sourcing this for me. It took a lot of patience and money but Chris was able to source it for me and get it to the states.
https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...6ef444485f.jpg I was able to maintain everything but had to reroute the front airbag wire. Instead of going from above, i rerouted it under the CF box and just got it to above the rebar. Luckily there was a lot of slack on that wire. Because there was no DIY instructions for this piece, i had to go slow and had issues where the CF box did come in to contact with the frame. Found out that keeping the filter in the box is not a good idea (du'h). Will post more updates accordingly. Got some updates on the rx8 and will take some pictures of it as well. |
This awesome piece just came from Japan. Picked this up for the RX8! Leg Motorsports Emblem Duct!

So i traded in the Miata last night. Gonna miss her deeply but hopefully her replacement is worth it!

Sooo... It's been quite sometime since I've last updated this place so here you go!
Supra Updates Back in April, i finally decided to buy some small things for the Supra. The two things that bugged me about the Supra was the wind buffeting and the lack of carbon fiber trim between the passenger side vents. The Launch edition came with the CF trim and other Special Editions came with it as well but not the A91 which irritated me. Yeah, I'm OCD like that but whatevs... Haha. I purchased a few items to add a little more CF to the interior but hopefully not be too tacky with it. I got the trim piece for the passenger side as well as some CF door handle trim pieces. i didn't want to overdo it so that is the most CF that will be on the car. I may think of getting the CF steering wheel but we'll see later on. I think this adds a nice touch of CF without going overboard to help match the center console. Also, adding the door handle trim also protects the area as you can see that my lady has made some scratches to the area. Don't mind the messy pictures as during this time, we were cleaning out the garage https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...b8aec2f09a.jpg CF trim piece for passenger side before installation https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...b4eda0e864.jpg Ahh, looks so much better https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...fff8b3c8e2.jpg OEM Door Handle Trim https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...16600681b8.jpg More CF! https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...9e3ee8b4ab.jpg After installation I also purchased some "functional" CF vents for the supra to get rid of the faux vent that came OEM. One of the few vents that you can actually make it look functional.... I just like the fact that it looks like a legitimate vent. I was super hesitant to get it as most of the trim pieces on the exterior are matte/satin black and i wanted to keep it that way though it does come with CF Mirror caps. So i just pulled the trigger on it. https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...9013c63257.jpg RH Stock Vent https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...f154a78776.jpg LH Stock Vent RH "Functional" Vent https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...d44bad2147.jpg LH "Functional" Vent Lastly, i got some anti-buffeting pieces. I wanted these to be gloss black like OEM and look as OEM as possible. I didn't want anything super fancy or something that would draw some attention so i settled on getting these. It also works perfectly and eliminated the wind buffeting when the windows are down. These are a must buy if you plan on getting a Supra. Here are some shots of it. https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...e8e666c215.jpg Before https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...7cf7226930.jpg After During this day, it was also my first time washing the car since it has been ceramic coated. And Lastly, i got my personalized plate in June finally for the Supra! https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...afd080c96d.jpg https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...8fdffe7f33.jpg I do have some updates on the 95 R2 but will post that a little bit later. |
Good morning all!
Here is an update on the new FD I picked up. Car arrived from Oregon in the beginning of July and been keeping it at my parents place as my place is full. The car would be started up weekly but mainly stays outside (blasphemy, i know...) but will be getting an outdoor car cover soon for it. Last weekend before i left to go to SoCal, i went over, added some oil, drove it around and washed it. I didn't have time to detail it but got it wash. The car has 69k miles on the chassis but the motor has about 4-5k on it. Its ported, 3mm apex seals and lightened/balanced rotors. Koyo radiator, not sure of the intercooler. Also has an ACT clutch, aluminum flywheel, tubular front swaybar with RB adjustable endlinks, JIC coilovers, HKS catback, JIC Coilovers and 3in. SS Downpipe. The car does still have its dash but does have a roll cage (with a bunch of surface rust) in it with 5point harness for both driver and passenger, original R2 passenger seat but driver seat is a touring seat that was a red one painted black or black one painted red (don't know...)? My brother is interested in purchasing the car from me so until he's sure, it will still be mine. The paint is Brilliant Black but definitely could use some paint correction but the car also has some dings here and there and there is some slight damage to the driver side front bumper to fender about a few inches. Original owner planned on making this a dedicated track car but i was going to restore it a little, get the carpeting back in with custom cutouts for the roll cage, wrap the exterior in yellow possibly and widebody the car making it in to a street/weekend track car. Here are some pictures of it. Any comments, feedback or questions are well appreciated! https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...c5b2324a01.jpg Missing center cap on the front wheel (anyone got a cap they would like to sell for SSR Integrals?) https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...9a9c7ee0ae.jpg R spec lip is a little beat up but luckily replacements are readily available. https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...52c17fdbd2.jpg https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...e3e6248bf1.jpg https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...99e14df3c9.jpg There is contact between the intercooler piping and the hood, you can see it on the passenger side piping. https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...d0a5278a28.jpg "innovative" battery holder https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...5795d60d7a.jpg Surface rust does give it some character though.... i guess...Dash was cut in to but for the most part, it was pretty well done to integrate the dash with the roll cage, yeah, could have been better but it is what it is. https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...4fed1becd9.jpg Big ol' OEM steering wheel, that needs to be changed... https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...f856c22bfc.jpg Scuff on the front bumper and fender, attempted to buff it out as much as possible but there is some paint cracking in the area. |
So, been quite sometime since i've posted anything here. Over the weekend since weather has been teasing on whether it was going to be good for a Rotors and Boba meet or not, ended up doing some work on the FD.
https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...55f2802fd0.jpg https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...264c00cf33.jpg https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...7c146c9be1.jpg https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...89355e8ae9.jpg |
Picked up a pair of Jade seat belt guides for the seat. The Spirit R seats were reupholstered and finding the OEM seat belt clips are impossible to hide. I do have the strap, but unfortunately not clips. Anyways, i got the black with red stitching, i like the idea of the contrast rather than getting the red leather which will definitely be a different red. What you guys think?
https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...ca37294787.jpg https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...9b2f7fea49.jpg __________________ |
Forgot to take pictures from a couple of weekends ago but placed the seat belt protectors on the seats. I'm loving the contrast and glad I did not go with the red leather option.
