Moving suggestions..anyone ever shipped a car?

So I'm looking to relocate my Rx7 from where it's currently stored to where I now live. I'm going to go the auto transport route, but from what I've researched so far everything just seems so sketchy.

Tons of companies that are apparently brokers show up on a Google Search that want to provide you with a quote, then spam your inbox and phone with these too good to be true rates, without so much as even being able to tell you which shipping carrier it would be, and how you pay on delivery, etc. Just seems fishy to me. And I'm not about to let some unknown company load my Rx7 on a transport with the understanding all I have to do is pay on delivery.

Has anyone every shipped a car before? Any advice or suggestions would be really appreciated.

Where to where?

Shipped a truck from FL to Seattle.....used a broker and went well. Some directions are cheaper if you are on an empty home run route

Most transporters are contractors and use a central dispatch service (company is called Central Dispatch). i have shipped cars 4-5 times now from Texas to LA, LA to Miami, Miami back to Texas, etc. and yes the industry is sketchy as fuck so be careful.

But I use this company and never had an issue shipping a few Porsche's and an SLS AMG. They are very professional.

It's going from Florida to NC. Thanks 9K, I put in a request for a quote. Anyone else have any other sources as well that aren't sketch to deal with?

I just got a quote back from Balch logistics, $718.00. Seems a bit steep for going from FL to NC. With this time of year I figure more people would be wanting to ship vehicles into FL and not out.

Anyone have any other sources they might be able to recommend?

That's not bad actually. Depending where exactly it's close to 450 miles so half of that fee is gas alone.
