I like how they made it a fixed roof. I wonder how many units they plan as well (these black series so far are very rare)

^yeah till they release a Black version of one of their SUV's. I lost respect for the AMG's once I seen a AMG version of one of their large boats.

those pics are of the hardtop convertible just like all the other SL's, just that the roof is up.

incorrect my friend....
The roof on this SL has been converted into a fixed coupe roof, also crafted in carbon fibre to lower the Black Series' center of gravity and further reduce weight.

can't agree with you more, AMG lost its glory when it was involved with every model in the line up, they should def keep Black version limited, very limited.

Making it a fixed roof completely defeats the purpose of the SL. Why have two 2-seat coupes in the AMG Black Series lineup? I can't see it being much better than the CLK63 AMG Black Series (bad ****).

All 3 cars in the Black Series (SLK, CLK, SL) are 2 seat coupes.

BMW does the same thing with the M6 in the interest of ultimate performance. They don't even offer a sunroof in the M6! My brother has a 645 and his biggest complaint is that he would loose the moon roof (which he loves) if he were to trade up to the M6, so let's hope MB doesn't make the same mistake!

i dont care much for benz's anymore since they're AMG'ng every damn model and this doesn't look all that great to me...just my $.02

With the new square headlights it looks like the old school SL again. Wonderful car for greasy old dudes and their trophy wives.
