Mazda3 SkyActiv now available on Mazda site

Well hey, you can finally see and build your very own SkyActiv Mazda3 on the Mazda site: http://www.mazdausa.com/MusaWeb/disp...Code=M3S#/home

AND I just saw a Mazda television commercial for it. My dealer tells me they're get them around the end of this month ;)

I hope they're a huge success for Mazda! Maybe they can then afford to work on... ya know... OTHER projects ;)

Yea, I was talking to Paul @ Mazmart over the phone today about it, he told me he test drove one ahhh I hate him so much ;)

later in the afternoon, I log onto Mazda's web site and HEY, they updated it with SkyActiv Mazda 3!

but it's only for "i" model, the S model is still the same 2.5 /w a few extra features like BSM.

seriously, what's the point of keeping the S model when it's like OMG an extra 15 horse that's like 10-14 mpg worst ?

if they just ditch the older model and sell the SkyActiv with all the options then I might think of switching my current 3 to the newer SkyActiv Model. otherwise, I'll wait for the CX-5.

Very disappointed to see it's not available on the "s" trim.

So if I want a manual, I can't get the Tech Package kinda options?

And the SkyActiv is stuck with those... "wheels." :(

Come on Mazda, drop the other engines, and just let us choose our SkyActiv3 as either entry level (minimal options), normal (what the average commuter wants), or sporty (sport wheels, sport suspension, etc.).

My thoughts exactly. Those wheels are all horrible except for the "s"

why are they still importing the "older" model ... it's such a waste of time and space and money.

well, they're probably trying to sell whatever they have left, in a few months they probably gonna end the "S" trim and just sell SkyActiv only.

Yeah I bet they just have a lot of 2.5L lumps they still need to get rid of. There's no sense in three 4-cylinder engine choices at one time.

Inside Line has an early review: http://www.insideline.com/mazda/3/20...rst-drive.html

I call it Toyotification... Mazda jumped on board with the 6, and I guess it's trickling down the line.

What about the MazdaSpeed 3 and it's "old" style engine? Do you think they'll keep it around, even though it's not SkyActiv? Or is a SkyActiv version coming someday?

There hasn't been any word on turbo Skyactiv, but Let's hope so... Other turbo 4's are getting much better MPG than the 2.3T. Hyundai's 2.0T in the Sonata on paper rather embarrasses the DISI (274hp/269tq/34MPG on 87 octane vs 263/280/25MPG on 93 octane).
