Mazda TSB

Hi guys, I am a new member here seeking help!!
I have a skyactiv mazda and I do have some problems with it, but I cannot find any TSB's on it.
The sites that have mazda TSB's (arlington, etc) do not have any skyactiv TSB's, however I know they exist because one of the members on here posted this.

https://www.rx8club.com/attachment.p...4&d=1330167352.

I would just like to know, where you find the newest TSB's and if any of you could post any more.

Thank you with MUCH LOVE

If your dealer is anything like mine, they will not do anything until you receive the letter in the mail, and/or seeing if your vehicle meets the requirements within the TSB. According to the TSB, it is not a major problem. My service department either doesn't know about the TSB before I do, or they just lie to me until it has officially notified the customer and tech about the problem. You can try calling the service department about this TSB and see if they will do anything for you.

kty0608 what is the problem you are having? and its with a 2012 mazda 3?

paimon.soror 03-26-2012 10:35 AM

http://www.mazdaserviceinfo.com/Account/Login.aspx this is a great resource if you dont mind paying the 20 fee for 24hours of use. It will have any recalls/TSBs/ as well as shop documentation for your car.

There are no other TSB's for SA with "engine issues", as said the TSB about engine rattle at warm up the customer must complain to dealer and then action will be taken...Take a copy of the TSB to your Mazda Dealer and ask it to be performed "if" this is the issue...if it is not then still report it.

You have not been specific on your 'problems'..

Only others I am aware of are 3 for CX-5 initial production with a Rattle Noise near windscreen and the poor fitting interior 'A Pillar Trim' "top gap" because of Air Bag install...only cosmetic and NOT a Re-call...and the transportation of the CX-5 on a flat bed truck from memory.

What SA Mazda are we talking about?

Make friends with the people at some Mazda dealer. Meet the techs, figure out who is who and make sure they know you and your car. I've always suggested this for ensuring that you get premium treatment. A service adviser who considers you a friend will keep you informed on everything current on your vehicle.

If you truly have a new Mazda, feel free to tell us what it is. You would be shocked at the resources available from some people on this forum.

Paul.

HI guys, thanks for the replies.
I have a 2012 Mazda 3 Skyactiv-GS here in BC.
The problem I have are these:

Rough idle, car shakes.
Idle fluctuates.
Both of these do not just occur when cold, but all the time.
Something that started just today, is that I hear a loud rattle sound coming from what seems like the center console/

Sorry for not clarifying what car it was.

zoom44 03-26-2012 08:39 PM

ok well first you have to have the rough idle diagnosed. as in why it is doing that. is it a dirty MAF? is it a busted O2 sensor? bad TStat? Stuck neutral sensor? etc etc.

Definitely not normal. I would wager that the rough idle is causing the vibration (Rattle) in your dash. A trip to your dealer is warranted. Is the engine light coming on?

Paul.

kty0608 03-26-2012 09:02 PM

That's what I first thought, MAF, 02, etc.
My cars got 1500km on it now (about 930mi) car is 2 months old.
the rough idle / fluctuating idle has been there since about 100km.
the rattle sound in the dash started today.

Ha ha! No. Don't annoy them, trust me, you want to make friends. Sometimes we wonder why life seems against us when often the ball is in our court and we are serving (We have more control of outcomes than we know).

We don't know if kty has gone to the dealer to discuss the matter as yet.

Paul.

kty0608 03-27-2012 09:25 PM

Thanks for your replies. I have an appointment booked for next monday (my first service).
I don't plan on annoying and dealing with force so to speak. I am taking it to a specific location that on the local mazda forum, rated it as one of the top in our lower mainland.
Just an update as well I found out what the rattling was.
My girl threw away my travel size advil but left the tiny cap in the storage on the roofliner beside the cabin lights.
Threw it out and the rattling went away.
One less thing to worry about!

What gas/fuel are you using?....even though you "can" use a lower octane (number), I would go with the highest (or close to it) fuel that you can buy..

These SA's are high compression motors and run best on high octane rated fuels, gasoline, petrol. ;)

kty0608 04-01-2012 03:28 PM

In canada we have 87,89 and 91.
87 and 89 have ethanol but 91 doesn't.
however 91 costs 1.60 right now a litre, which is about 6.05 a gallon.
it just doesn't make sense to me to buy a "fuel saving car" and buy the most expensive gas for it.
However I have tried 89 which is i believe only 5% ethanol and i only got better mileage by a slight margin

Everything I have read said that the north american ones were designed to run on 87 octane.

They are, in fact in the brochure it says "...all designed to run on 87 octant.

I brought my car into one of the more reputable shops here in the lower mainland and the foreman said that the fluctuating idle (50-100 revs) and slight vibration was normal, in that it was something to do with the load on the engine?
such as having ac on, turning the wheel, heated seats etc. every time he turned each on, the idle would fluctuate. he says it's normal but if it gets worse, i should go back.

bse50 04-02-2012 12:51 PM

A fluctuating idle is normal indeed!

Even with a slight vibration?

What is your idling rpm? Ask them if you can sit in another for comparison.

Paul.

kty0608 04-03-2012 07:13 PM

Normal idle i've seen in other skyactivs is 750.
mine is around 675 +/- 50 but i've seen it drop to just over 500.

I wish you were here. I could do greater good in getting help for you. I can research still anyway. If I have time I will ask some questions on your behalf.

Send me the last 8 of your VIN by private message if you can.

Hi ASH8.. Can you please post any new TSBs / Documents you might have for the CX-5 SKYACTIV-D

Apparently there's a technical bulletin which deals with the engine oil dilution.

Thanks in advance..
