Yeah i could see daily driving this.

It's really attractive from certain angles, as here ...
https://www.rx8club.com/attachment.p...9&d=1319520421 but there is feet of front overhang here ... the door is almost as wide as the overhang beyond the front wheel....just euuuuwww :tear: https://www.rx8club.com/attachment.p...8&d=1319520421 and I'm seeing way too much Nissan-clone all over the bulbous front end here ... needs to be toned down more than a little. https://www.rx8club.com/attachment.p...7&d=1319520421 The interior is refreshing... I'm glad to see what appears to be going away from the awful expanse of hard plastic dash material in the 3 that's right there up and in your face and in the way of outward vision. This looks blessedly clean, simple, and elegant. https://www.rx8club.com/attachment.p...1&d=1319523183 |
Anyone else notice the 1.3 liter Sky engine mentioned in the original post? :evil_laug

Honestly, the interior is probably going to see a lot more changes than the exterior if this car becomes a production model. The overall general design might stay similar, but materials and the details of many things will change quite a bit. If it does come out looking like that, I would be rather impressed.
That's just an engine exhibit showing the 1.3L engine used in the demio (mazda 2)... hope you weren't getting excited about a sky rotary. |

Quoting R&T "The tiny side mirrors and high-tech cabin are the only true dream car touches on the Takeri. Take those away and you’re pretty much looking at the next Mazda6." That car is drop dead gorgeous. You guys complaining about the front overhang are nucking futs. It's one of the distinctive styling elements that makes the proportions on that car look so fantastic. Gorgeous. Unbelievably gorgeous. |

I honestly didn't know they had a 1.3 liter piston. Hell, they should stick the 2.0 Sky G in the 2, and give it some balls. But then again, the 1.3 will probably get 50mpg on the highway.

Gorgeous. Unbelievably gorgeous. I think it does look just a touch too long, but I didn't notice it until someone pointed it out. I think just a very little bit shorter might look better, though I definitely don't think it looks bad in its current form. I'd have to see actual photos of it to be sure though. If they produce a car that looks anything like that, I'd definitely be interested. |

i don't see so much different than Shinari.. seem Mazda used to make all model same design.. i guess this goes for Mazda 3 as they quote midsize sedan concept car and Shinari probably for Mazda 6..
ps; don't expect a new rotary car guys, maybe they might show us the final limited edition Mazda RX8 Spirit R.. |

Mazda has not indicated that the next MX-5 will be shown as yet (Although people have hoped for it). The 6 was next in line. I do think the MX-5 comes prior to the next gen 3 though.

Particularly when they have just announced the Spirit R RX-8 and 1000 units. Any sign of a new Rotary would kill these sales. |

Not necessarily. 1000 models is limited enough to appeal exclusively to collectors in Japan. That's the only market it's going to be offered in anyway.
