Everybody is slow, not just Mazda.

Economy is going down and everybody knows it.

woohoo ! might be a good time to see if I should swap my father's cx-7 :)

Sales of Mazda are down here in EU too....old products (good products BTW, but the market is addicted to new models) , tsunami and strong yen plays against Mazda Motor Europe.

Skyactiv maybe will change the things.....

ASH8 06-03-2011 04:17 PM

well..Mazda supply has been an issue, sales are down here also...stopped MA's record run..

Will they bounce back here, mmm, don't know, Aussie economy slipped into negative growth for the first time in 20 years, one more quarter and we will be in recession with the rest of you guys.

Yes Matt, Mazda needs to pull their finger out, the SKY roll-out should be accelerated, they can not afford to lose more ground..Koreans are killing them.

Believe it or not but you are on the correct path now your dollar is not so strong anymore, it is just you (Joe public) gets literally F***ed as imports cost WAY more.

The "idea" is to bring back manufacturing to the US, after much was sold off or transferred to cheap labour countries.

Whether it will work is another guess, but, it usually takes many many years...do you have the patience???

If the economy improves in the near future, vehicle sales will rise and the housing market should improve as well. For now, it is a very steep climb from the truth. Were not even at the middle of the climb and people are still losing jobs, their home, etc. I hope, this is all just a dream, but in reality, it is not.

Yes mate...as we have talked about before...it devalues your currency and helps Australia!!!..

At the mo the Aussie Dollar is worth 7% more than the US...Importers here and us little people have never had it so good importing!...

Plus, China wants our rocks and dirt (Coal,Iron, Gold, Silver, Yellow Cake,Bauxite)...

My state has the worlds largest deposits of Uranium.

So when you have something that others want (China)... well we boom...

Once they slow down or stop we will be in the shit...so to speak!

Nissan Leaf a bust in the US?

This just in....

The Nissan Leaf was recently named the World Car of the Year, but that doesn't seem to be helping sales in the United States.

According to Automotive News, the company has slashed their original sales projection of 20,000 units to just 10,000 to 12,000 units for 2011. Nissan declined to cite a reason for the move, but the Japanese earthquake has disrupted vehicle production. However, there's also the possibility that consumers aren't ready to accept a 100 mile (161 km) range.

Regardless, it has to be a little discouraging when fuel prices are near all-time highs but only 46 percent of consumers who reserved a car are actually taking delivery.

I found the company which makes these CTs, I spoke to the manager there, he barely speaks English, but its cool.

I asked him to get one ready cuz it's a per-order basics + I'm waiting for my funds to come (long story), he should have it by now and I should have my $$$ ready some time next week or next next week (I spent so much money last 2 months jesus, engine, 2 Mazdaspeed seats from Japan, etc ...)

it will not say "MAZDA COMPRESSION TESTER" on it, but it works exactly the same, the newest version from these guys also can test piston engines, but the plugs sold separately (another 300 bux)

I mean if Knight Sports, Fujita Engineering, and all other Japanese top tuning companies use this, I'm sure it will work just fine. best part about this is ----- it cost 1/3 almost 1/2 less than Mazda's "version" so I'm happy.

I reserved the car last April, but then I canceled it couple months later.

why ?

At that time, there was only 1 charging station in the whole New York City (all 5 boros), its actually in Long Island, not even in NYC. another problem was they won't even sell the car to NYC until sometime LATE this year. So I was like f- this, got my 99 bux back, went out and bought myself a Mazda 3 (great car btw)

Now it has about 8 or 10 Charging station in the City, but it cost money, 98 bux a month unlimited charging. if it's a taxi it's really worth it. I know I pay more for gas than that amount even now but ... I really won't use it that much.

Another problem is I can't go too far with EV (like Leaf), Just last week I went to Lime Rock, to Jersey, back to Woodbury, then head home. 400 something miles. Late last year, I drove my Mazda3 to Boston, 4 hours drive. those are totally not possible with Leaf.

once they have more charging station this will pick up fast. but for now ... nope
