HIROSHIMA, Japan—

Mazda Motor Corporation has launched the freshened Verisa compact car for sale in Japan. The newly refined model features high quality interior and exterior improvements and goes on sale today at all Mazda, Mazda Anfini and Mazda Autozam dealerships nationwide. Manufacturer’s suggested retail prices (including taxes) start at 1,560,000 yen for the Verisa C, with its high quality fabric seats, and 1,650,000 yen for the Verisa L, which offers leather seats as standard.

Improvements to the Verisa C grade include new Lilac Grey fabric seats. The door trim and glove box lid have a matching color, invigorating the cabin space. Three exterior body colors are also newly available, including Lilac Silver Metallic.

Main features of the freshened Mazda Verisa

- A new feature is Lilac Grey fabric seats with orange stitching. The new design features matching color door trim, parts surrounding the meter panel, and glove box lid.
- The addition of three new body colors – Lilac Silver Metallic, Metropolitan Grey Mica, and Sparkling Black Mica – brings the available exterior range to eight colors.
- High quality leather-wrapped steering wheel as standard (Verisa C).
- Vehicle immobilizer fitted as standard equipment (all grades).
- Audio-less specification as standard. (To best match each driver’s needs, the space for a head unit in the center panel is left open. The Audio-less spec allows for a variety of audio systems) (all grades).

Engines are the 1.5 litre DOHC FWD 4 cylinder...4-speed EC-AT Trans ONLY.

ALSO available as an e-4WD (Four Wheel Drive)

Cute looking Motor, I don't understand why Mazda has limited this car for Domestic use only.

I would have thought an export Market would have been possible.

No..... previous Mazda2 (see photo) is the base for this car(Verisa). Previous Mazda 2 for EU market was builded into a Ford Europe facility (Valencia-Spain)......No MZR gasoline under the hood but Ford engines (the Fiesta's engines).

Much better than the weirdly styled Mazda5. Looks Mazda Mini-ish. I could see this as a very nice DD with room for stuff. Mazda certainly needs something besides the 3 and the 5 just ain't it - too many seats - too minivanish.

I like this car as an urban transport.
Probably won't consider it if I lived in the burbs though.
