look..
Now we know why there was a CX-8 in Chicago , for a Japan only filming promo. |
I said the same thing: I can't wait for the Diesel to come to the USofA.

Interesting a local atricle quoted Mazda Australia cheif as saying no decision on the CX-8 Diesel comming to Australia has been made, a decision will be early in January 2018.
THEN as I read the Zoom Zoom mag... Zoom-Zoom, USA, Winter 2017 On the Japan Released CX-8 it says.. The CX-8 will also go on sale in Australia and New Zealand. IMO it will be too expensive and priced too close to the CX-9. |
Production of the CX-8 starts...
|
sweet
|
I really like the front grille and back end's edging. Good luck Mazda!
|
Agree, imo it is a great size under the CX-9 is a big wide unit..
|
CONFIRMED..
Mazda CX-8 Diesel is coming to Australasia and NZ ONLY at this stage as it is ONLY built in Right Hand Drive architecture for JDM markets. Could possibly be exported to the UK "if" MMUK believe there is a market for it. Brand-New Mazda CX-8 Diesel will join the family, arriving on Aussie shores in the second half of 2018. |
Not a big fan of SUVs, but Mazda's SUVs are about as good-looking as they can get.
|
IF Mazda are doing Diesel in CX-5 (on future 'coming soon' model list for Mazda USA), and IF Mazda Diesels are a sales success (I personally believe they will not be), then perhaps more CX-? diesels could be born.

Well, I think diesel actually kinda makes sense, being that diesel engine focus more on the low-end torque.
But you know, dieselgate. Thanks, VW. |
Interesting MAZDA is about to show the CX-8 in China
HIROSHIMA, Japan - Mazda Motor Corporation will show the CX-8 three-row crossover SUV at the 2018 Beijing International Automotive Exhibition (Auto China 2018), which will be open to the public from April 29 through May 4. Other new-generation vehicles to be displayed include the Mazda MX-5 RF, Mazda CX-5 and Mazda6. The CX-8 is the flagship model of Mazda's SUV lineup in Japan. The three-row crossover SUV offers a new alternative for customers who don't want to compromise on driving performance or styling in a multi-passenger vehicle. Since the car's December launch in Japan, orders have exceeded 20,000 units. The model is especially popular with customers in their 30s and 40s. Large SUVs are in great demand in China, the world's biggest market for automobiles, and exhibiting the CX-8 there will allow Mazda to introduce the car to customers in China and other nations. In line with its “Sustainable Zoom-Zoom 2030” vision for technology development, Mazda aims to use the fundamental appeal of the automobile - driving pleasure - to inspire people, enrich society and help bring about a beautiful earth. By offering an experience of car ownership that celebrates driving, the company hopes to enrich lives and build a strong bond with customers. |
Meaning they will make the CX-8 in Left Hand Drive, so it could make it's way to USA, IF they ever get Mazda Diesels off the ground in US.?
|
For the US market, they should just put the 2.5 Turbo engine in it, and forget about any other options.
They are never planning on bringing the diesel here, and diesel and premium vehicle market don't go together anymore. I would take one for a test drive. It looks really nice inside. BC. |
