LGT spec B or MS6 GT?

Selling my RX8 and I just got some money from a lawsuit so im looking at a new car.

I want something fun, quick, but practical, comfortable, that will last for a while, and usable in the winter.

I've narrowed it down to two:
LGT Spec-B
MS6 GT

What is 8Clubs opinions on these two? Which should I get and why? Any other suggestions?

Also, what are some important things I should know about these two cars...I know very little about the both of them.

Thanks,
Sean

Sean why not an evo? $1500 in mods for an evo and you're talking 300 whp(at least), it will destroy any of those listed.

Maybe he has friends and doesn't like techno.

What about a BMW? Or an Audi S4?

Not a fan of the Evo...and to be honest..I dont need 300WHP from a DD. I really need the practicality which is why I'm selling the 8 instead of just investing. As tempted as I am to get major power, I'm looking for a more quality...nice interior, blah blah blah, but with decent power and agility.

3 series...ehh...with what you get for the price, I think I like the Subie and Mazda better.

S4...details on that please, including specs and price.

The Audi S4 is a very nice car, however, it costs a good bit more than the other cars you're considering. You're looking at $38k for a low-mileage used one. Anyway, it's AWD with a 40:60 rear-bias torque split and a 4.2l V8 up front, the same engine found in the Audi R8, but making 344 horsepower instead of 420. But, like you said, you're not interested in big power here, so you could take a look at the Audi A4, which is the same car without the big V8 and big price tag. Same Quattro AWD system, though, and a wide choice of engines to marry to it, from a minuscule 1.6 4-banger to a 3.2 V6, as well as some diesels you probably don't care about.

the speed6 is defintly the best choice considering price and gas mileage the speed6 actually gets better mileage than the V6 not to mention the spec. B gets worse than rx-8 gas mileage I would consider the best value the speed6. Im goint to buy one as soon as I pay off my rx-8 in a couple of years

I have driven neither, so I can't comment on their driving characteristics.

However, Autoblog has posted news that Mazda will discontinue the MS6 for the 2008 model year. http://www.autoblog.com/2007/07/20/r...ed-off-for-08/

My wife's car is a base 2005 Legacy. Her car is obviously not sporty, but it does drive well and is among the best of the plain-jane mid-size sedans. In addition, Subaru has really made significant improvements to their interiors. I still have vivid memories of how cheap, junky, and tinny Subaru interiors used to be only ten years ago. But, now the base legacy is nice and the pictures I've seen of the spec. B look like even better.

Finally, do a search on this forum for what some of the members have paid for their MS6's. But, the MS6 seems to be selling for a lot less $$ than the Spec. B.

Cheers

Well, I would say get the MS6. Then again, that's just me, I'm more of a mazda fan boy.

Have to say I might go with an Acura TL Type-S

I've driven both. The Legacy's interior is superior that of the dated Mazda6 interior's. The Subie does look understated. But I prefer understated class to overstated crass. MSP6's front end just doesn't look right.... very bulbous and I believe unless Mazda fixed it with various ECU flashes, that the MSP6 suffers from heat soak issues thanks to inefficient TMIC design.
The aftermarket for turbocharged Subarus is mature and large. AWD of the Subaru is solid and world reknown over the Haldex based Mazda which I believe is really mostly FWD-like until slippage which to me is reactive vs. active. Drive both and determine which one is for you. You may prefer the extrovert MSP6 than the more restrained Legacy GT.

ms6 is a badass car!!!

Speed 6 owner here. I'll be blunt, even though I chose the Speed 6. The Spec B is simply a better car. However, you gotta pay to get the better car. I went affordable and chose the Speed 6 and have no regrets, but Subaru simply makes a better car PERIOD. For the money though, they do not, since incentives are never as good on Subarus, so I'd go with the Speed 6. ;)
