BMW has always been more about status and luxury than it has hp figures. They make great engines but they have never been the fastest cars for the money or had the most horsepower. So even if Lexus puts 350hp in the new IS it's probably not going to matter whole lot. BMW has done an amazing job with building and maintaining their brand image, and that's the #1 reason people buy them. Take a 3 series and put another badge on it and sudenly it's not nearly as appealing.
So Ford really thought the Mondeo (taken from Europe) would sell in the US? I guarantee you it was a baiter car.

And Ford is going to take in a ton of dough from the GT supercar? Ha. The GT was to manipulate the mass population's psychology to get it ready for the introduction of the Mustang. This is not just my opinion. This is a fact.

The introduction of the Mustang huh? Yeah because Ford needs to manipulate people into buying a Mustang... Lay off the drugs!

its true, stylistically BMWs have never been beautiful (i still love their styling) but in reality they are fairly boxy, always have been. But they are high performance, highly durable (well maybe no longer), and have a commanding buyer loyalty. Therefore they are sold at a premium and happily bought. Hell if i decided on a 330Ci instead of the 8 (i was close) chances are id never drive anything but a BMW ever again. BMW is probably imho the most solid mark in the automotive world, and always will be...they never strayed away from devoting their lives to making the cars better,

lexus' motto...the passionate pursuit of perfection...BMWs motto (perhaps unofficial and misquoted) we looked perfection in the eye, and it blinked

dynamic difference there...great now i want to go drive a bimmer thanks a lot

Look, I believe we are thinking basically the same thing. The IS probably laid the groundwork for the G35 to be the first to be able to get a real stab at the 3-series, psychologically if not in sizable market share. There finally a perception that the 3-series can really be competed against. This perception is in the minds of carmakers and the mass population for the first time. It's a complex, layered process in redefining the zeitgeist. No one says the IS and G35 are very similar cars, but each had a part in unsettling the 3-series a little. Now more comers are coming. And Mazda MPS and Mazdaspeed is a part of that.

Yeah, and the new 3-series might come out unscathed. But I sure hope not.

LOL. I'm telling you, it's in print. Ask that Ohio Buckeye guy, who is an engineer for Ford. He must have that insider information. Both cars are part of the same plan.

Ford really wants this new Mustang to be EMBEDDED in the MASS population's consciousness. More than any other Mustang before it. This is also why, in my opinion (haven't read anything about this), Ford put that super extended tail on the sucker and that ultra plain jane vanilla C-pillar that together make the car look like you can go fishing in it.

Ford made that car for the same reason Dodge made the viper...to make people think they're cool (the brand, I mean, not the people)

Ike and others, let's really test your acumen in future-telling.

1. What two countries will be the two most powerful at the end of the next 50 years?

2. Will we have artificial intelligence of the biological type (as in Blade Runner) in the next 25 years?

3. Will we EVER have articificial intelligence on a computer chip? If so, will it have a soul?

4. Even though it seems they've done just about everything, what will the next HOT THING be in ****?

5. And most importantly, will the all new Hyundai Sonata be an overwhelming success as I think it will?

Right, but that's only part of the plan. However, Ford was thinking ALL ALONG how to use the GT to assuage the psychology of the masses specifically for the impending intro of the new Mustang. The Viper did not have another Chrysler specifically in mind.

1. United States and China
2. No
3. No
4. Sex with bears
5. No, it is priced to high and does not have the reputation to defeat the accord and the camry

Biological artificial intelligence with a soul? My headache just moved to migraine status.

1.) Do you think they will ever have natural artificial food coloring?

LOL. I do not get sexually excited about naked bears AT ALL.

And by "overwhelming" Sonata success, I mean Altima levels. Of course, it isn't going to beat the Camry and Accord.

It's presumed biological AI will have a soul. Clones have souls, right? Twins have separate souls, right? Of course, the tweaking of DNA could get sooooo radical, that we could get monsters like in Resident Evil. But wouldn't one assume these would have souls?

The real question is whether the "life on a chip" variety will have a soul.

and what qualifies you as an expert on the future that you can be testing people? you watched blade runner and came up with your username from it? Did you fail your void comp test?

I don't have all the answers for those questions. So if you commit now with answers, then you can not change your answers later when that future arrives. Rather, more than likely, people forget their previous answers and when that future becomes the actual present, they tend to just go "oh yeah, of course," which is something I can not stand in people.

This is why I'm sticking my neck out for the Sonata. I don't know what the reality will be. We will all see.

And for your information, I only failed the void comp ONCE and that was after 1 million cross references.

LOL. Where is the anger? You seem a little upset. And why do you call me a "little ball"? Is it because you are....
