I'd love to see a complete list because I know there are a lot of cars missing. That C6 time is mighty impressive.

Did you guys ever see the video of "sliding" Stefan Bellof driving the course in a 911 turbo (I don't remember which variant) at the end of Porsche--Victory by Design. It is the most impressive driving I have ever seen on TV and in person its not even close. Watching his controlled slides is comparable IMO to listening to an incredible musician playing or an artist painting.

My uncle's roommate (he's old) knew Hans Stuck back in Germany. :)

It's cool to see the C5 and C6 are right in the middle of the pack.

What's even moer impressive is that the C6 they tested is only equipped with the Z51 suspension package and still manages to run with the 360CS and 996 Turbo. I can't wait to see what the C6 Z06 manages to put down for times, or what the 997 Turbo and 430CS do for that matter. Unlike the two European cars, however, the C6 Z06 is a car that I could see myself affording at some point within the next 10 years rather than just drooling over, which gets me all the more excited over it. :)

What's your source for these figures? I've seen some different times for some of the cars listed, and some of the times don't look right for certain cars. Would also be curious to see what the FD RX-7 and RX-8 clocked at the Ring.

BlueEyes 10-05-2004 08:02 AM

I just found it on another forum. Not sure where it came from.

nice specs, the c6 was surprising!

I'm with you on that one, there for sure is a R34 Skykine missing which should be right below the 996 Turbo, as well as numerous other cars. I saw a modded STi turn what appeared to be a 7:44 as well as a Ruf Yellowbird turn nearly the same time. I'm sure it was hellish coming up with that list ,whoever compiled it, to get a more complete list would take far more time than it would be worth.

I wonder what a series 8 FD would run with a good driver... there's a video review out there of the '99 updated version where it blows an older FD away at the track, plus it ran high 12's in the 1/4 in Best Car and other Japanese magazines, so I'd bet it could pull a pretty decent time.
