Invitation to drive a Nissan GT-R
A friend of mine works for Nissan. They received two GT-R's. One for delivery to customer and the other one is being kept as a demo. He invited me to come see and drive it this weekend.
I am not contemplating selling my Rx-8 but cannot pass up an opportunity like this. He said it goes it drive great and the handling is unreal. |

Lucky!!!:banghead:
Let us know what you think of it after you drove it Any one in SoCal know any dealer that can hook me up with a test drive?? |
The local dealers that have the GTR are pricing them $25,000.00 over the window sticker price and moving them under those terms.
|
most dealerships around me are selling them for between 90-100k, a buddy somehow managed to pick one up at 500 over MSRP for around 73k out the door..., hes getting it delivered in late august.
|
Don't crash it! heh
Definitely see if you can get it out to a place with a lot of run-off room, and let us know what it's like right on the limit.... |
You are a very lucky man!

You are gonna have SO much fun.
I went to the Nissan launch of the GT-r. (Dealership personnel) They had a little auto-x track set up for us to go play with. Ya, it is an impressive car. I gotta give it credit for being really fast. It doesn't really feel like an AWD car either. It still has the detached feel, but something about the weight distribution made it a little more corner friendly. Is it a great car? - YES Is it the top competitor in the price range? - Not in my opinion. |
well... report please
|
What a farce. The General Manager has the only demo and he was gone for the weekend. Wasted a drive and two hours where I could have been at Homestead with the Chin group. My friend is head of their MIS department and was equally dissapointed for me. Screw it. I should have known better.
Sorry! |
dont even sweat it bro, life is too good to be worrying about petty things like that

I think it is sad that when you read the reviews of the GT-R in the mags, they highlight the price and you get great performance comparitively thinking and then the dealers stick it to you with a $25,000.00 premium to buy one. Will write a note to Road & Track concerning this. Makes me really appreciate what I have and for the costs a lot of fun.

I was not aware. Naive in principal, I guess! |
Ford did it with the current Mustang when it first came out.
|
cool but i really doubt the dealership would let people (even employees) just go out and test drive the car. i would think they would want the car to have a little miles on it when it gets sold which i am sure it will. i got to stop by my two nissan dealerships to see if they are going to get inventory.

Lucky. Expecting a full write up, plus tons of pics.

The ZR1 was marked up as high as 400%. That's right, $460,000 for a $115,000 car. An American car at that!
