Idiot Ferrari Owners

Why do complete Morons get to drive really nice cars.

Yesterday, 2 Ferrari 360 convertible owners and their loser ways:

the first guy in an amaxing red 360, could not figure out how to open the front hood, to put his plastic bags from the store in. His wife was standing in the front sayin " no, it didn't open" then he got it to pop up a bit, but could not manage to actually open the hood. They went off with their purchase in their lap. What an ass.

the second guy, in a brand new, but tagged yellow 360 nearly burned out his clutch trying to pull away from the stoplight. the smell was awful. he revved really high, and feathered out the clutch, and was barely moving. It was painful to hear, My mother can pull away from a light better.

just an observation, anyone else see really nice cars, being driven by idiots.

RX Renesis 01-16-2005 02:31 PM

oh well they're rich... probally pay someone to teach them how to pop their hood... and probally pay to replace the clutch... they're the kind of people who don't give a fuk about money...

You'd be amazed at how many people don't know how to pop their hood. 2 or 3 years ago, I got pulled to augment the base security force. Part of that was a 100% inspection of every vehicle entering the base. There were all kinds of people pulling up, who had no idea how to get the hood open, and we weren't allowed to physically assist and had to make do with helpful suggestions  . Not to be stereotypical or anything, but 90% of those people were women.

BlueFrenzy 01-16-2005 03:09 PM

ha ha those rich folk are probably use to having their chauffeurs open and load their luggage/groceries for them. Not to mention drive for them. ha ha. Whatever, I think that our cars are still better.

That's amazing though how you saw TWO Ferraris in the same day. It wouldn't be surprising if you lived in LA though. Heck I see a Ferrari maybe twice a year (heh .. probably because of the snow here half the year)

This was in the Alpharetta area of north Fulton county, lots of money in that area. A lot of Pro Atlhletes live out there. It has been a long time since i saw two new Ferraris in one day, i also saw an old Dino yesterday, so three in one day must be my record.

Ferrari manual trans...

All I can say is maybe the guy was driving a Ferrari manual the first time. Not the easiest gearbox/shifter to operate smoothly the first time out...

True.

I watched a guy in a red 360 with paddle shifters not be able to find reverse and stuck the car over the parking bumb stop. Everytime he thought he had reverse he would give it gas. Rather amusing.

I once saw was that 60 year old guy with a 20 year young blonde in the passenger seat of a Testarossa at the gas station, his problem was that he couldn't figure out how to open the fuel tank cap ...

Edit: But to be honest, on a test drive with a Jaguar X-type 3.0 I had exactly the same sort of problem (except for a blonde in the passenger seat wondering about my technical incompetence, that place was taken by a colleague from work who tried to figure out how the navi works in the meantime).

The problem is that people dont bother to read the manuals for their cars . They will read the manual when something goes wrong.

Wanna talk about Ferarri owners that don't have a clue? This is bizarre:

truth be told there are idiot everything owners, even idiot 8 owners. Fact is were just jealous cause they have a nicer car

i have driven different ferraris before and the pedals are very close together. I know something similar as far as the reving of the engine and not really going anywhere because my foot got caught between the pedals. I have a size 13 foot. I did eventually learn to turn my foot sideways before i tried to take it back and forth

XDEEDUBBX 01-21-2005 03:07 PM

im jealous....hahaha

Overport 01-21-2005 05:09 PM

I pulled up next to a guy in a 360CS on West Sahara a few days ago at a stoplight.

He told me it had a V12. (It really has a 3.6 Liter V8). I thought that was a little funny.

I got to drive a new Maserati convertible last year. It was the strangest damn set up. There was no reverse on the gear shift and it as automatically in auto trans. However it had paddle shifters that could be used at any time and to hit reverse there was a little T shaped lever that you pulled up and backward. Really confusing...Thank god I was with the owner who explained it to me first.

i deal with this kind of bs everyday. working at a BMW dealership, you see how stupid people really are. people come in to get their clocks set up, have their windshield washer res. filled up, and other little things the owner's manual already explains. bunch of lawyers and doctors that have the brains can't even push a couple buttons to set up their seat memory. i especially "love" the ones that come in while you're in the middle of doing a big job and ask why their ashtray door doesn't seem to slide back and forth easily. first off, don't smoke and leave all that dirty ass ash in your $60k car. so yea...some people really have too much money and majority are just stupid.

isn't there an acronym for these kind of people?? RTFM

Actually Masaerati (like Ferrari) can be purchased with clutchless manual paddle-shift or a traditional 6-speed. The paddle shift equipped car is simple to operate; doesn't sound like your freind is completely clear...

You're in Duluth? You should have offered to help them in either situation--it might've been John Smoltz (an Atlanta Braves pitcher who lives in that area, for you non-Georgians) or someone of similar stature who would've gladly set you up with season tickets! :p

I think it's better they use their ashtrays then throwing their butts out the window... Sorry, kinda off topic, but it's a pet peeve...

Speaking of ferrari owners. Topgear had a "survey" of car owners. And one of the results of the survey was that something like 90% of ferrari owners don't own ferrari's.

Turned out that they verified all the car ownership data in the survey (whether you actually owned the car or not) and a very heavy portion of the "ferrari" owners were lying!

Its pretty hilarous because nobodies names were going to be mentioned in the survey...
