I really RX8club community and even though I sold my RX8 I still want hang around show you where my new adventure takes me. I gotta admit that even though that V6 produces more hp and torque and I do miss changing gears @9rpm.... :((

Nice pickup. The genesis Coupe is a great car. I was strongly considering one myself...but correct me if I'm wrong...the R-Spec does not have Xenons or cruise control, right?

Yes sir , I dont care about xenons I'll run aftermarket HID's anyway but yeah no cruise control is little weird

Pretty awesome car, took one for a test drive, and it was one of 3 cars on my list to choose from. Out of curiosity, did you get a really good deal to make you pass up on the '13's fairly large jump in hp and performance?

Yeah , the sticker price on 2012 3.8 R-Spec $28k I got it for $24k so it was a pretty good deal and besides I wanted the car now.

I would have jumped at that price myself.

Yes it was a good price , besides that hp is enough for me and I dont really like the new look for gencoupe for 2013....

I hope they offer the new Mazda 6 in a coupe form to compete with the Hyundai, since we won't be seeing a new rotary any time soon. Mazda needs a halo car, and no, the MX-5 doesn't cut it.

It was a while ago when I first went to look at the genesis coupe before I got the 8. I don't remember why but I really disliked the interior styling. I think iirc it was cheap looking and feeling. Have they made any differences for the R-spec on the inside?

I sat in a genesis at the autoshow last week and I was wondering about 2 things. The back seats... what the hell happened with that? They're like 1 ft higher than the front seats so my head is in the back windshield. Even my 135 had way better back seats! Also there were 3 "gauges" on the dash if I remember correctly. One was definitely "Torque" lol.

The Gen Coupe has pluses and minuses like any other car. Price and power are a plus. Overall, I didn't like the clutch/tranny action, the useless back seats, and the very rough ride (even with the standard suspension). Not to say it's a bad choice, but it's more old-school Mustang than Infiniti G37 Coupe. YMMV.

Nice car op. I sat in one over the weekend and I don't know what it was, but I barely fit in it and I'm only 6 foot. It did have a sunroof, maybe that was it.

I'm 6 feet and I feel pretty comfortable , its wider and feels more spacious then rx8 , not that I complained in 8. Here's pic of the car str8 outta Car-Wash!

the gen coupe is based off the tiburon with regard to the cramped interior. that's basically what replaced the tibby. I had one, remember quite well nearly knocking someone unconscious when i closed the hatch and they were sitting there minding their own business. as for the three gauges, yes one is torque, one is batt charge i believe and one is your mpg.

Anyway, the newtiburon.com site is a decent forum and i know there's a sister site for the actual gen coupe, i just dont remember offhand what it is.

Was never a fan of the front of that car. the first upgrade to be done is a body kit of any sort to replace that face... blech. As for the interior, that's where hyundai shaves off overhead... they do use cheaper materials. you'll also find they use cheaply made accessory motors for things like your windows, sunroof, trunk release, autolocks, etc. Replaced my sun roof motor once, driver side door lock twice and both driver and passenger window motors twice. this was all with less than 30k on the car. had to replace the clutch at 18k... huyndai fucked me on that, saying it was my fault and not a manufacturer's defect. They ended up eating it in the end when Hyundai lost the class-action lawsuit over it. They ended up reimbursing me for the fidanza flywheel and stage3 clutch i put in it. karma's a bitch! anyway, got rid of the car at just under 45k.

Enjoy the car but be ready for it should things start going wrong. it'll be slight and small at first but they'll progress. Don't let hyundai push you with regard to any repairs. they'll try and they'll do it after the car is in the air and 3/4 of the way torn apart. I will never own one again. my experiences with both my tibby and 2 wholly different dealers was bad bad and more bad.

I'm part of thje gencoupe.com forum and I talked to couple people that bought their genesis from the same dealer I did and they're happy with everything so far. We will what will happen with time but the interior is that bad at all I definitely prefer this interior versus 2012 Subaru WRX. As far as the gauges for torque and stuff , I don't have those because R-Spec has less of those fancy thing like extra gauges and sunroof but it has bigger wheels and brembo brakes.

i was very active on the newtibby site for almost 4 years... long after i got rid of the car. it was a fun car but it sure put hyundai in a bad light for me. i wish you nothing but better luck with your coupe.

I heard the manual Transmission on the Genesis Coupes are having alot of issues and Hyundai hasn't been very good about fixing this problem. That pretty much scared me off from this car a good warranty doesn't mean much if the manufacturer isn't good about honoring it or owning up to their own design flaws.

Didn't see that before but I guess all cars has some kind of issues and your experience heavily depend on the dealer you will bring your car in.

Man that fucking sucks! I have managed my first 10 months without getting hit so far, but a good few close calls.

Hope it wasn't any real damage to the car.
