How much HP will a turbo motor lose using 87octane gas?
I test drove a subaru WRX STi and the power wasn't as I was expecting it to be. I am suspecting that the Subaru might of been fueled up with regular 87octane gas
if so, How much Horsepower did the motor produce with 87 octane fuel?? |
1) wrong forum to ask a question about a Scubbie
2) impossible to say what different octane will result in . (hp-wise) |
You'll have 290 HP until your motor blows.

dont go to the dark side!

A Soobie can run on weasels-piss!
They are god-like, and nothing can stop them!!! Mighty EVO rules! they are......oops....... just broke a conrod. S |
Two trains leave their stations heading towards one another. Train A is diesel and Train B is electric. Which will hit the other first? :eyetwitch

Potentially 100 % :)
|
Yeah, I'm pretty sure if you use shit fuel on a turbo motor you'll have some issues with it sooner or later..
|
weasel-piss... lol
sitting here giggling. weasel-piss. lol. |
Actually, Subies have the best ignition timing scheme out there.
They are always playing with the knock sensor and timing retard, looking for optimal advance. You can run those things on horse semen and they'll keep going. |
Lol!

The Subie drivers ;)

mike.
nice to see you around again.. nothing with what we have right now is able to do what the other ecus do. use the knock sensor wisely.. even na.. and the roos as i call them have turbo built into the stock ecu.. rx8 not so much... :( i would say the power on 87 oct with turbo on an rx8 would be 0. it would not make it that long on a dyno. beers  |
Read up on what an octane rating actually means... and why cars with high compression need a higher rating...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Octane_rating More or less what everyone is trying to say is that lower octane gas will knock really bad in a high compression engine like that... which is no good for the engine at all. Higher/lower octane rating really doesn't have more or less power, its more a matter of which works best with how the engine is designed to operate |
weasel-piss and horse semen :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

diesel trains are electric- they use the diesels as generators to drive the electric motors.
that god that wiki was generally correct.i was going to have an aneurism if it was wrong |
the REAL questoin is can an old Steam engine REALLY push the DeLorian all the way up to 88 mph...

Gee... sure like to slam the guy
