Have you seen a Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet on the road?

Just happened to randomly come across an Edmunds article on how rare it is to see a Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet on the road. There have been 107 registered in California. And of course, it is heavily skewed toward female buyers/drivers.

I've seen one on the street and have seen one out in front of a dealer - it is truly a grotesque vehicle. It is definitely right up there with the Aztek, but at least the Aztek didn't command such a high asking price.

I have seen a couple different ones in Ohio driving down the highway. The word UGLY comes to mind.

Captain Pepper 06-14-2012 09:41 PM

i actually just saw one two days ago driving home from work. ugly as all hell

SayNoToPistons 06-14-2012 10:13 PM

Nope, nor do I want to. The most pointless and overpriced vehicle. Apparently the chassis has the same rigidity as a wet spaghetti too.

Zero in Nevada... :dunno:

wazup_shorty 06-15-2012 11:33 AM

Consider yourself lucky. I agree it would be right up there on the all time ugliest list...probably on the most overpriced list too...starting at 45k?:uh:

I recently saw two on a float near Montreal, Canada. I puked a little in my mouth. I must assume they were taken straight to the scrap yard! For humanitarian reasons...

I do hope someone got fired at Nissan for this atrocity!

zoom44 06-15-2012 08:35 PM

from the article i couldnt tell you because the article didnt include a picture of the vehicle in question. if you are going to ask "have you seen this" you have to actually show us what the heck you are talking about.

zoom44 06-15-2012 08:38 PM

so i went to her link and looked. my god what a horror. people thought the Aztec was ugly(i didnt) and this thing is like you took an ugly tree and hit it with an Aztec and then hit this abomination. if i did see one in person someone would have to hold me back from making a salt circle around it, dousing it with holy water and sending it back to hell with an exorcism.

my neighbor has one.... You can tell he feels "special" pullin into his driveway with his topless suv, aviator shades, and sleeveless shirt. Last week he spent over an hour applying tire shine. Ill try to take a picture for you guys.

Funny...I can't wait for the pictures.

I first saw that two months ago and posted it here:

Wrong, it doesn't "have to". That's a Nissan Stagea with a complete bolt on anyone in Japan can buy at a dealer. Besides, if there is a junked GT-R 34, it's likely a front end collision.

Anyway, here's one practical vehicle out of the Mad Max movie, a Doomsday Prepper car!

And this: "two broken lug studs? No worries, I have four more to go!"

And speaking of production cars, here's one that I saw on the freeway the other day.

Spin9k 06-16-2012 07:16 AM

It looks like those "It's a car / It's a boat" vehicles that used to show up in Popular Mechanics. (Thinking) Underwater just may be where it 'looks' the best :puke:

Razz1 06-16-2012 01:44 PM

Pure Ugly.

I wanna see one with 4" lift springs and 32" wheels

boriquapapi08 07-04-2012 07:38 AM

Its ugly. Maybe after some 32" wheels, air bags and a bunch of chrome it look better. ROFL

kvndoom 07-04-2012 08:45 AM

My girlfriend saw one the other day. I guess they managed to sell one in Virginia.

Carlos Ghosn must have lost a drunken bet to allow this thing to be built. I bet the damn Acura ZDX sells more than this.

Johnvx1k 07-04-2012 10:20 AM

I saw one of these a month ago and had no idea what it was. Spin9k is right, first thing I thought was that it looked like a car/boat type thing. Nissan has made some interesting vehicles recently. The nissan juke is also ugly IMO. The headlights are in the strangest place.

Could be close...Autoblog says,"The ZDX hasn't exactly been a sales superstar for Acura. Only 1,564 examples of the oddball crossover were sold last year, making it the fourth-worst-selling new vehicle in the United States in 2011."

Only the Mitsubishi Lancer Sportback, Hyundai Azera, (and the winner for least sales in 2011 at just 1,096 sold) ..wait for it... the Acura RL! Those numbers also give Acura - aka Honda - the dubious distinction of being the only manufacturer with two cars on the worst ten list.

Maybe this attitude has something to do with it? Autoblog also says that Toshinobu Minami, the new head of global design for Acura, has had bad feedback on the (beak front) design from multiple directions, but says the company isn't going to "buckle under that pressure." Instead of scrapping the beak design all together, the designer wants to keep the corporate look while simultaneously reaching further out toward a premium design language.

That's the textbook definition of insanity... if something doesn't fly, hell, just keep doing it and it will surely get better :wallbash: Oh how far Honda has fallen from being the "Do No Wrong" car maker of the 70's, 80's, and 90's :tear: ...truly sad.

kvndoom 07-04-2012 05:00 PM

Ugh don't get me started on Honda/Acura... since I got my car I've had the pleasure of keeping up with some of their upper management stupidity.

The CR-Z being the car everybody wanted with the engine nobody wanted... them saying that the Crosstour "is beautiful"... the sub-100 sales per month RL getting millions of dollars invested in a redesign instead of just killing it...

and yes... THE BEAK :scratchhe

No greater example of stubborn Japanese pride exists than at Honda, for damn sure! The Murano convertible would have made a perfect Acura.

Bunch of Haters !

I love how every last one of you has something nasty to say about the Murano CrossCab and I can guarantee is because not one of you could afford to buy one. Hold up while I put my top down and throw on the Hater Shades !

All_Day_Dre 03-31-2014 07:50 PM

^please tell me youre joking

RXeligion 03-31-2014 08:03 PM

^ Did someone just join this forum to defend their car against cross words spoken almost two years ago?

While we're back on the subject, that car looks like the result of Cadillac taking over production of the Geo Tracker and f-ing it up six ways from Sunday.
