what was the reason this present stopped by? special promotion going on or ?

rotarygod 04-11-2007 02:19 AM

Bernie from Rotary News actually announced a few days ago that the car would be there on display.

I see they still aren't allowing anyone to take pictures of the engine bay. Mike Fuller from mulsannescorner.com was also told that he couldn't take any pictures of the engine bay. There is only 1 shot of it that I know of.

The Long Beach race is this weekend and since it was nearby, why not show it off!

bascho 04-11-2007 09:03 AM

What series does this car race in?

MazdaMonkey 04-11-2007 09:10 AM

American Le Mans Series, in the P2 category. Used to be a 3-rotor, now it is a 4-cylinder turbo

newcastle 04-11-2007 09:20 AM

Hmmm i'm 2 miles form Huntington Beach......i'll have ti swing by and check it out.

saturn 04-11-2007 10:49 AM

I watch American Le Mans Series......never seen this car. Are they not doing well this season. Typically on TV they only show the leaders and you rarely get to watch the rest of the cars. I'll have to keep an eye out.

OK, to seal your fame in RX8Club legend, you have to get a pic of the engine!

Wishful thinking, but I was hoping an MS8 would pop out! LOL

That is correct... its always at the back or in the pits, more time at the pits tho.

Actually one has already been posted on the forum. It's the only picture I've seen.

They had throttle cable issues in Sebring so they switched to throttle-by-wire for St. Petersburg, which didn't work any better. Things should be back on track for Long Beach this weekend though.

The old 3-rotor car was all over ALMS the past couple of years. It was hard to miss as the noise it created was deafening.
